Need to rename Guarunteed Rate Field to New Cuba Park or something.

Badler: Sox expected to sign Yoelki Cespedes
The White Sox have to be the most popular MLB team in Cuba.

Old: Mega Hendriks Speculation Thread
I can't imagine to have worked as hard as those guys have to get to the point they are at right now with free agency, only to have this happen to them. How debilitating.

Old: Mega Hendriks Speculation Thread
I am starting to wonder if a lot of these players will hold off signing until the middle of the season, like Keuchel did a few years ago, in hopes of getting a better contract later in the year when more is known about the covid and fan attendance situation.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Edit: Sure wouldn't want him on the team. But hes not a dick.

Not me. If you're a dick, I don't care who you are, get off my team. Puig was a stud talent-wise for the Dodgers for a few years there. If I were a Dodgers fan, I would have LOATHED him. And that stupid tongue thing he always did was so annoying.

Back-Up Catcher
Sox will probably use Collins as the backup.

Owners would like to delay season until vaccine
The MLB and MLBPA have like 2 and a half months to figure this out before scheduled spring training games begin. It's a lot different than last year when this all started literally right in the middle of spring training. If they can't come to some sort of agreement between now (mid December) and late February, I'm going to be feeling some type of way. They need to get together, talk to each other like civil adults, and FIGURE IT OUT.

Hahn was on Phillies interview list
Maybe Hahn isn't as leashed or upset with his job as everyone is speculating him to be?

Owners would like to delay season until vaccine
Honestly kind of what I was thinking. Baseball in Chicago is good for Opening Day, and then about the 2nd or 3rd week of May through September (and probably 1st or 2nd week of October if we ever made it that far)

Owners would like to delay season until vaccine
At this point I've just accepted they are going to bicker and fight and it will drag on through April or May until they agree on something and games start mid May or June. It sucks but it is what it is at this point.

Indians will be no more
If you take all bias out of it, The White Sox is pretty stupid lmao. Only thing cool about it is the logo and the colors.

You have $30m to complete the roster...
They need another starter for when one of them eventually inevitably get injured

Trevor Bauer v. Lance Lynn
People who are not thrilled about the Lance Lynn signing...hypothetical question for you. If the Sox only have Lynn for 2021 and he signs somewhere else next offseason, but they win the world series with him in 2021 and he is a major reason why they won it, and also Dunning turns into an ace for Texas and ends up winning a Cy Young in the next 6 years, what would you think of the trade then?

Sox sign Adam Eaton 1 year, $7m plus option
The only person I really could see Eaton clashing with on this team would be Anderson. Both seem to have "type-A" personalities. Eaton seems to have more of an "old-school" approach and thought process...while Anderson obviously does not. But, Eaton did sign, and he knows what this team is about. He obviously thinks he can win another world series here, so I doubt he would instigate anything.

Michael Brantley Thread
Eloy is not getting traded lol. I could see a platoon with him and Brantley with DH/LF.

Jose Abreu wins 2020 AL MVP and Hank Aaron Award

Will We Have a Full 162 Game Season in 2021?
In the end, it's billionaires and millionaires fighting over money...and the fans are defending them...

Will We Have a Full 162 Game Season in 2021?
In the end, it was pretty clear that both sides were being greedy and stubborn. Owners were definitely the ones to blame in the beginning, but in the end the PA was being just as stubborn as the owners were.

Will We Have a Full 162 Game Season in 2021?
I think it's pretty clear there will be some form of fan restriction if they start playing games on April 1st. I think they better start soon with these labor negotiations, because if they wait until like February, we will see the same ugly situation we saw this year, where the delay will be purely about money. And of course all this is happening right when the White Sox contention window opens

Will We Have a Full 162 Game Season in 2021?
Yeah, I think it really depends on the vaccine and how that all shakes out.

Will We Have a Full 162 Game Season in 2021?
I haven't seen this being discussed anywhere else, feel free to move it if it needs to be. I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone thinks, though. I don't think anyone really knows what exactly is going to happen.

Passan: Springer to White Sox not happening
Eh, aside his temper, he gets hurt too often.

Jace Fry Tendered
I'm not saying I can do better than him, nor am I saying he should not be making that much. Was simply making an observation that it blows my mind. Thanks for assuming though, I do appreciate it. I agree that they are highly specialized and the work they put in is basically all year, not just for 7-8 months. I don't understand why I can't be surprised though, or better yet, why you feel the need to tell me I shouldn't be surprised by it. We all (myself included) talk about 7 figures like it's a normal thing...it most certainly is not normal. Hence why it just struck me when I actually thought about how much money that is.
