  1. This team is going to look vastly different in 2024, me thinks.
  2. I don't feel like going through the entire thread so idk if this has been mentioned already, but I wonder if AJ Pierzynski would be interested in the job. I enjoyed listening to him on Fox and I like his podcast. Obvious ties to the org and fans would be immediately interested. I like Jason but I would like AJ more. Just not sure if he wants that kind of commitment. EDIT: just saw AJ's latest episode on Getz's gm mtgs comments. Nevermind, it aint happening lol.
  3. Funny, the Kopech thing, that's immediately what I thought, after my tiger fan buddy broke the news to me saying "ours now, b****".
  4. I have definitely thought about it lol . People can say what they want. But you gotta admit that Craig Counsell hiring is very intriguing. I may just pay more attention to the northsiders next year, especially if the Sox are just as, if not more depressing than this season.
  5. Wtf is a "major league coach"? Asking for a friend.
  6. To me, this, along with the decision to keep Grifol, is the most infuriating.
  7. Which is what the white sox should have done. But no, Reinsdorf didn't want someone new because it would "take too long." Such a joke.
  8. According to some national "specialists" they would say this team is a sleeping giant. Lmao.
  9. Lots of families with kids. I am not one of them, but if I had a child, I wouldn't want them seeing Tim as a role model.
  10. In all fairness...I never saw Tim as a leader. His interviews were often cringe...and he always seemed to be very focused on himself. Which is fine, but his demeanor and language never screamed "leader" to me.
  11. Interesting. I used to feel this way. Only watched the Sox. That's definitely the case in the regular season. But I've been watching postseason baseball. It's been very entertaining. Of course I wish the Sox were in it, as they should be this year had all gone according to plan. I don't think I'll ever be as excited or passionate about another team as the Sox, just because I bleed the silver, black and white. But watching these extremely talented and fun-to-watch teams has reinvigorated my love for the game. And, I know there are varying opinions, but the new pace of play definitely helps retain in-game interest. And...if the Sox ever left I honestly would probably become a Cubs fan. I think the north-south hatred is stupid. Both teams are a part of this great city we all know and love. I wish there was more of a rivalry but that only comes when both teams are good, which rarely happens (see early-mid 2000's). I don't think I'd be as passionate as I am with the Sox, but I love the city of Chicago unlike any other. I've lived in Michigan for the last 11 years, I just can't get myself to be a fan of Detroit teams.
  12. If they would have just been able to hold on to Semien and Tatis, a lot of problems wouldnt be problems. Sometimes the best moves are the ones that aren't made.
  13. I thought of one. Getz could be an incompetent GM.
  14. Maybe in 10 years the Sox and Bears will be good again. Maybe. I'm 29 years old. I got hooked on the Sox and Bears because of their 05-06 seasons respectively. Neither have had much to show since then. I've basically been a disappointed sports fan throughout all my teenage years and 20s. Why do I continue to be a fan of these teams? Am I just easily duped?
  15. Cardinals have built a foundation of sustained success for decades. I'm sure this is just a blip on their radar and they'll be back on top of the NLC in no time. Rockies and Royals don't really have a hope for competitiveness in the near future either. You can at least make a case for NYM and SD.
  16. Idk which team is worse to be a fan of right now. Sox, Angels, A's, Mets, Padres, Royals or Rockies. All of those are pretty damn horrific.
  17. I am curious, after this debacle of a season, what the attendance numbers are on this board with attending Sox games. Personally I usually attend 2-4 games a year, I have attended zero games this season and stopped watching in May...have watched probably the least amount of games since 2010.
  18. God it sucks being a fan of Chicago sports teams.
