  1. LOL worst call ever he never even secured the ball
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 06:43 PM) Just shows you what a good manager and bullpen can do for a team. Not that I like Chapman off the field, but if you add him to our team along with another big bat I feel we are constructed almost the exact same as this Indians team. Only problem is we have no depth in the event of injury. We would need Shields to actually be serviceable like we were hoping Danks to give us for the longest time.
  3. A few less donuts on his DL stint and Schwarber is safe there
  4. Lol the Indians suck and they will be lucky to win this game. Blows my mind that they are in the World Series. Their lineup is worse than ours.
  5. Kluber looks pretty bad the Indians are going to need at least 3 runs.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 11:41 PM) I told u guys the Cubs were a lock and to bet the house. Did anybody follow my good advice? Cubs will wrap it up. It's simple, folks. The Cubs DEFINITELY have the better team. Case closed. Yeah the Cubs are clearly the more talented team but weren't they penciled in as the NL champ before the season? It's not really going out on a limb to predict that. If it's going to game 7 they definitely weren't a lock and the Indians are without Salazar, Carrasco, and Brantley.
  7. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 10:36 PM) Yes I was against the trade from the beginning; he had an awful 2nd half of 2015 and it was 2 years of control and we traded a young player at a position for which we had zero in the way of replacement. I didn't see the players we traded as fringe and still don't. But I'm not going to like any of this type of trades in the current condition of this org. The Sox aren't close to a playoff team (imo), so now is not the time to acquire these veterans. A lot of people expected one of Gordon, Upton, or Cespedes to be signed which at the time seemed like enough to make the sox a playoff team. Which is why you see criticism of the Frazier move now because the front office turned it into a half measure by not making the necessary FA signings in succession.
  8. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) One thing that hasn't really been mentioned is how little they're paying for the naming rights. As the deadspin article pointed out, this deal is $2.4 million AAV below league average. Further, if the White Sox are so cash hungry, why not keep the naming rights and change the name back to Comiskey Park, like most Sox fans want anyway, and just go forward with a full rebuild, which will put a lot more than $2 million AAV into the owners' pockets, and then go for a Citi Field-esque naming rights deal when a competitive team emerges from the talent purge? I'm sure they'll find a way to blame the fans for not going to the games as the reason why they can't afford to pass on a bad naming rights deal.
  9. Why do they keep trotting Chisenhall out there when he's had his head up his ass from the start of the first game? He's the Danks of outfielders.
  10. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 08:29 AM) All I can say is that you have 2 heads of companies. Jerry and the Sox and this CEO of Guaranteed Rate and it really goes to prove you really don't have to be that smart to run a company. The fact that 90% of the public can pick up on why this isn't a good look, or how bad of a joke this is should go to prove something to whoever signed off on this decision. Keep the red in the logo, take the arrow out, put a house in. You can keep your down arrow in areas of the stadium by the food, or signage as you walk up the escalators but the main signs, the ones that get shown? those should not have a down arrow. In the end the CEO of Guaranteed RAte, although wrong, isn't really his fault. Him and his marketing people want exposure. They're getting it. He doesn't care about baseball. The real problem is that you had a group of Sox FO ppl who didn't have the foresight to see this problem and took a terrible sponsorhip for 13 year for a few million dollars extra........... dumb is what it is They know what they are doing. From their comments it seems like they just hate the fan base and are content to rub it in our faces whenever it is convenient. Sell the team and move to Vegas. Sox can play in the AL West and move Houston to the AL Central.
  11. Sale won't ever go to the Cubs. JR would be destroying the value of his own team by helping the Cubs win a World Series.
  12. Cubs get every call. When the pitch is 5 inches outside the crowd reaction is hilarious.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 11:29 PM) I still think they'll roll next year no matter what. This would be exactly like KC losing to the Giants then coming back the next year and getting the job done. The Cubs are going to reach the WS again next year, it's just a matter of will they be going for two in a row; or to finally have the experience to win it all. Of course when you fail once you always can turn into a Detroit. Not getting the job done with a good core. I still think Cubs win it all this year. They have the best team. Next yr they will have to beat Sale 2-3 times in the playoffs to win a World Series whether he goes to the Red Sox or Dodgers. The road doesn't get easier for them. It will actually be much more difficult if they even get that far.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:25 PM) God it kills me that we could have had Francona as manager instead of Robin. Did he even want the job? The Bears could've easily had Arians instead of Trestman. I don't get the impression that high profile free agents/managers have wanted to join the White Sox especially in the last 5-8 years.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) Eh I think you go with him anyhow. Maybe just for one inning. I don't think they should pitch Shaw after he went 2 innings yesterday. No let him rest then pitch him 2-3 innings in game 5 if it's a close game.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 08:27 PM) So do you bring in Miller to face Baez or let Kluber keep going? Pull him if he allows another base runner.
  17. How can you possibly compute surplus value for players that haven't even proven their value? Sale has the others are complete question marks. You can't assign value like that to players in A ball.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) This is why you build a strong organization, you don't try to patch holes and pretend everything will work. Sigh. The 2005 White Sox would handle this Indians team with ease. They have some key injuries but its kind of embarrassing for the league for them to win it all. I don't think their team is that great. Not that I'd want the Cubs to win or anything.
  19. Kluber vs Lackey is going to be tough for the Cubs. They needed a huge walk off emotional win to catch the momentum. Going in flat against the Indians ace tomorrow is pretty bad for them. Looking like the Indians are in very good shape right now.
  20. I see Shields wants to make a run at the single season ERA record. Make him earn his money. Let him achieve his place in the history books for futility. No more phantom DL stints.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) Not total luck. You guys despise Ozzie but he did a helluva job managing that team and not yanking starters when they were hot and overmanaging. Also we had very very good starting pitching and played clean baseball and had some big hits. All those games against the Astros were clean and close and we had a deserving team. Never forget how we dominated the postseason. It wasn't luck. However ... I do agree with much of what you said. The bullpen was lucky for sure. A lot of retread vets had great years like Dye and Everett as well. I never wanted Ozzie gone.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 10:36 PM) So as a Sox fan how do you feel on a scale of 1-10? I feel a 3. Happy for the people who never had a title and this proves Chicago is a great sports town again. So many titles in recent history. However as a Sox fan I'm mad. Our team blows right now and thought hiring Robin Ventura was a good idea. Morons. I'm upset we are stuck with incompetent ownership and management with no hope of the necessary changes being made for the foreseeable future. Multiple World Series wins for the Cubs and this team will never recover. The 2005 team was complete luck given how badly they squandered a huge opportunity to grow the fan base.
  23. Can't hate on the Cubs when they earn these wins with superior play.
