White Sox are still a World Series Contender
I keep telling myself we aren't dumb enough to not fill out this roster to ensure a legit title run, but then they amaze me. I hope that we bring someone in once Collins and Lamb flop that can provide some Eloy relief.

3/30 2:10PM CST Sox @ Rockies FINAL ST Game
Would you prefer a million walks, no control, and them being all over his fastball?

I don't mind the home run as long as he looks poised and confident. He will allow runs but if he avoids the dreaded walks he will be a good pitcher.

2021 Spring Training Cuts Thread
It's been a tough 365 days and a tough Spring with Eloy. I wish we could have brought another legit bat in here, but it is go time after today. The squad will need to simply do their parts to keep the wins coming and not try to replace him. I think our pitching staff will be good enough to keep us in games and offset some of the Eloy sting. Let's Go!

To be fair, when he hits the ball it probably will be on the ground.

Back in three months? How about a third opinion!

Yermin may have made the team..
I think Yermin and Collins should stay up unless a better alternative arrives, but if they struggle i think they get sent down. I don't think we will give them time to figure things out unfortunately. Lucroy seems to have an in with the pitching staff so maybe he stays. But he can't hit a lick, so with Eloy out I agree with you that the bat is more important.

Yermin may have made the team..
Not to mention iffy as hitters. They have raked some in spring training for sure, but they rub me as the types that struggle for a few months at the plate and are then sent down.

Thought Robert was hurt.

But Vaughn has been playing in the field for the Sox. He is still raw, but it's not as if he is brand new.

Here we go again- Sox in talks with Puig and Cespedes per Hector Gomez
Maybe this was the good news he was talking about in January.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
If other guys step up we can get those games right back, specifically Rodon and Cease. We aren't going to offset his production for sure, but we need a guy to give us some of that production back.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
It's come to this again. Hoping a Zach Collins type can fill in at DH. I've seen this story before and odds are we will be looking for another hitter in June. Unlike last year however, 8 teams won't be making the playoffs.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Yep. And then they will say we lost this year of contention because of the injury. They love built in excuses.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
They've been playing Vaughn in left for a year now. I hope they'd know if he is competent out there or not. I still think they bring in an outside guy to soften the blow.

The only winner here is the surgeon repairing two ACL tears.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
As I said before. The silver lining is Eloy only brings the bat and misses time due to injury anyway. His bat will be missed but if we can DH someone that can give us 60 percent of his production we will be good if others play to their capabilities. Hell, we would have won 90 games last year with EE at DH and at bats going to scrubs.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Exactly. We still need to go for the division. Which means we need another bat in here that can slug.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
The idea was not a long term sub. It was for weeks on end and giving guys breathers here and there. Not for six months, and not to produce some of the power numbers Eloy does.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
He got 3.5 to be a super sub in the infield and outfield. Not to be a 6 month replacement.
