  1. OK, stop with the ageism and hawk hate.
  2. Benetti should call "stretch" which indicates the ball probably wasn't struck hard enough to get out. Instead he calls it like it is gong to be a home run and it barely gets to the warning track. It's not as though this was the only time he has done that.
  3. McCann looks like he is our best catcher, not a back-up.
  4. Benetti frustrates viewers when the Sox hit deep fly balls that are not going to be home runs. Hawk could sense when a ball was hit squarely, how it came off the bat, its trajectory etc.. and .that it was probably gettin' out. Way back, he looks up...you cann put in on the boooooard ! Eloy's fly to RF was not even close.
  5. I recall Drysdale on the air in 83 with Hawk remarking when LaRussa went out to get a pitcher: " Go get 'em dago ! " Pretty outrageous but he didn't lose his job. He would have if that happened now.
  6. OK. I know when I have to take my medicine..
  7. I happily eat parrot shit tonight.
  8. Disappointment trio = EE, Cishek and Mazara.
  9. Collins still looking in the dugout when a key pitch needs to be called. I wonder who is making that call. Ricky or McCann?
  10. Rodon and/or Reylo just lost their rotations spots,,,unless this is a fluke start against a team that looks like they have thrown in the towel for the year.
  11. I think that hit the net first.
  12. He hung it and he hurt it.
  13. Your going to cream in your pants if Collins gets a hit.
  14. What game are you watching?
  15. Nice catch Collins!
  16. Detroit line-up is like the '27 Yankees.
  17. Ball was crushed though.
  18. Collins gets to hit against a Right Handed pitcher who is throwing his first pitch in the major league tonight. That's a wet dream for his fans.
  19. Please no "lubob"..
  20. He can't so I don't think Vaughn comes up until 2022. Frankly, I don't see how he replaces Abreu at first base for the next few years or if he is even needed as a platoon there since he bats RH like Abreu and Collins is the logical LH option (and may be a better first basemen, taller with more reach for throws). Will Vaughn hit enough to be a full time DH ? I don't know. It would be kind of strange though to have spent a high first round pick on a a DH prospect.
  21. Just my own opinion, but from the few innings I saw Vaughn at first and third, I did not think he was ready to play either position at the major league level. Because of that, I think he needs to work on his defense in the Minors for a year or so. He is too young to just be a DH. His body looks like he could have made a good catcher if he wanted. I think EE will start to hit, but this shortened season is flying by, so he has to get it going.
  22. Bad trade. Mazara looks to be worthless.
  23. I wonder if Madrigal's shoulder stabilized and whether he is ready to go. If the Sox only need another bat they might consider Mercedes over Vaughn. Mazara has people concerned about finding an every day RFer, seemingly an intractable problem. His bat speed looks slow and sluggish, especially for a pull hitter that need to get around on pitches. And no home runs for a corner outfielder on this team? That's not acceptable. We need another bomber there. We tought we had one.
  24. Sign McCann up for 3 more years. Grandal can platoon at catcher and DH and have some stints on the DL without impacting the team.
