Detmers was placed on the injured list last year with left elbow inflammation. He rehabbed from that without TJ surgery, but his durability might be something to consider for any team looking to trade for him. My crystal ball says he will go to the Cubs.

I noticed the same thing. Rasmussen's strategy was almost always to throw non-strikes to get batters out once they were in the hole with 2 strikes. Granted, it takes a lot of patience to take pitches once you have two strikes, but still, it was maddening to see so many hitters go fishing out of the strike zone for strike 3. Our hitting coach needs to take note. Tomorrow, reel the pitcher in, zone him in and hit the ball hard, very hard.

Teel has, for all intents and purposes, made himself into a back-up catcher because he can no longer be relied upon to catch for a full season or even a part of a season. If you tend to agree with that, then you can see why the White Sox should be looking for a catcher that can be the starting catcher moving forward. That level of catcher is going to require a top prospect - Carlson or dare I say, Bonemer. That is an unacceptable cost, especially considering the need for pitching and the reticence to trade top prospects. Yea, Teel really screwed himself and the team with his latest injury. That put Getz in an untenable position - make a costly trade or live with sub-par catchers the rest of the season.
