The ISFA (Illinois taxpayers) own Rate Field and additional property around the stadium. Once the White Sox leave, the ISFA can choose to either repurpose Rate Field (doubtful), abandon it, or demolish it. Demo and clearing the land seems like the most likely scenario (in order to sell vacant property to a private developer). Soldier Field presents a much different and more complicated set of options given its location and the involvement of the City and the Park District.

Kay (and other mediocre pitchers) cannot compete against a superior line-up like this. He just doesn't have the stuff.

Very few starting pitchers can handle the Phillies line-up, a kind of murder's row. It's going to be tough to just try to out-hit them ... in any game.

Plesac, the other "Big man from Gary" should have been on the White Sox. I still love him as a baseball color commentator. Very South side mentality and just a great man IMO. I'm watching the Cubs right now as a distraction...oh boy...

I am backing off of Chowlowsky a bit based in part on Josh Nelson's scouting but also considering the White Sox current needs vs long term needs. It's a bit of a crap shoot though.

I for one, am not going to kiss a billionaire's ass thinking he has some moral superiority or superior intelligence. OK he made billions through PEI. So you trust him? OK. I am not the only one that has concerns that The White Sox may abandon their historic home and leave taxpayers holding the bag while adjacent property values are adversely impacted. Oh sure no one else is concerned about that but me. MMFL.

I agree. After watching Fegan, who has been scouting Roch, I have my doubts about him. I would pick Grady Emerson who looks like he has the physical tools that Bobby Witt Jr has. Plus, I like our current infield and don't see where Roch would fit in....unless Colson keeps swinging at air. When Colson is right, he is a top SS . No reason to replace him for a few years, and then Grady Emerson takes over.

OK... let's see if Ishbia puts his money where his mouth is. So far I see a contingent contract between Shore Capital (not Ishbia's personal money) and Amtrak. He can do what Mansueto did with his own money and buy the rest of the 78, so what is holding him up? Why doesn't he address the stadium issues with the media, fans, and especially those who have a financial stake in these matters? The only public statements I have heard from Ishbia is that he confirms that he has nothing to do with running the White Sox including any of their day to day decisions (or, for all we know, future strategies, like signing Murakami). He can't, which makes him largely irrelevant to the 2026 team and maybe well beyond this season. What you imagine about Ishbia is all between your ears, it is all projection, i.e., this guy is going to personally guarantee hundreds of millions in player contracts.. spend a Billion of his own money on a stadium, knows or cares one hoot about the South side other than seeking maximum profits with the lowest risks possible. There is the Pope, and then there is this guy. Don't confuse the two.

Without Mune for 6-8 weeks or maybe longer, it becomes harder to believe that the White Sox can win the Division. Mune was a Game changer.

With Mune on the IL for a good part of the season, Sam has to be in the running for Rookie of the Year. This player's intensity reminds of Pete Rose. Sam and Chase Meidroth have been exceptional place setters. Too bad Mune is gone for a month or two...that injury kind of wrecked a potentially great season where he was driving in Sam, Chase and others.

I bet you had Prince in the cue.

Come on. Only a year and a half left on that deal....and maybe the Sox pay the rest of his 2026 salary... if they get a decent prospect in return.
