Sox looking at building in South Loop
Not the entire skyline but the taller buildings and that view became better on the cat walk in center. Old Comiskey was a much shorter structure that GRate, so no doubt views of the city could be improved drastically if Old Comiskey was rebuilt on the old site or where Armor Park is. Dick, I loved the old split palladian windows and walking on the cat walk behind the scoreboard. For the Bridgeport resident, I attach a picture from a recent Opener (tailgating) I took from Parking Lot C to refresh his recollection of the area.

I remember looking at the skyline through the split palladian windows at old Comiskey. Love to see the Sox rebuild at the old site and orient the park that way again.

If antiquated in your book means convenient parking, I'm down with that. I like doing my own thing including going where I want to go in the safety of my own vehicle.

Jerry Reinsdorf open to selling the White Sox per Britt Ghiroli
Related development's pressure to sell the WSox on a move to the 78 did nothing but cause a lot of uncertainty about the future of the franchise. GRF is not in poor condition needing replacement like old Comiskey was. I vigorously opposed Related and their full court press to obtain public financing for a project that largely made no sense for the WSox or for tax payers. Well, goodbye old friend.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
You won't spend $50 for an antenna in order to have numerous free over-the-air channels? Makes no sense whatsoever. https://www.walmart.com/ip/General-Electric-Outdoor-Yagi-HDTV-Antenna-Long-Range-VHF-UHF-1080P-4K-Black-33685/52162885?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=4529&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=2222222227752162885_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-394283752452&wl5=9021615&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=52162885&veh=sem_LIA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyL24BhCtARIsALo0fSCkT7g2VBmugKayW3puTdXcMXCb_NWilPuIcGujYen3ufH4bE2G7GwaApJZEALw_wcB

Sox looking at building in South Loop
He lives in his parents basement. He found an image of several parking passes on a black background on the internet. He lives in Bridgeport but wants the White Sox to move out of a neighborhood they have been in for over 100 years. He craves one-upmanship on internet forums. He is a know-it-all. There are other less generous explanations.

"Disagree. What have the built? Not much. It’s homes. It’s a residential area. JR has also tried to get some commercial development setup over there but has been denied by the neighborhood. It’s one of the reasons why moved ahead with the UC development area. beautiful new homes in Bridgeport though" First the term "disinvestment" was used incorrectly by a poster who does not know what that means. " What have the built? Not much?" Are you suggesting that the ISFA should finance commercial buildings around the stadium? That sounds like a good idea if/when a new Comiskey is built on the site of the original and the South side of 35th street gets a new McCuddy's and much much more. If you build it and it has beer, they will come.

This is plain false. There has been plenty of development down the South Halsted corridor over the past 30 years and many, many nice homes, condos, etc. West of GRate. You sound like you have not been there and are simply repeating something you heard.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
You can get a TV antenna to either roof mount or attic mount if those options are available for you. There is a web site that will provide the heading in degrees for the CSHN channels 62.02 and 62.03 from your home. Then use your phone's compass app to to point the antenna accordingly. Previously, my house had existing RG-6 cable to a few TV locations in the home for cable boxes. Once I started streaming I repurposed the cable for antenna and tied therm together with a splitter then to the antenna in the attic. Then get your OLED.

The trade ideas begin! Robert for Holliday ++
Holliday is 6 ft tall in heels. He had 5 HR in over 200 ABs. Is that the Holliday I hear is worth giving up a proven Ace pitcher? No Fn Way.

The WSox have a serious talent deficit that they should begin to address by signing Free Agents. Getz is never going to outsmart and out-deal another GM. IMO, the WSox should view starting pitching as their cornerstone and build upon it. Of course other teams want our best pitchers, F them.

Dear Sox fans
The Sox Board long ago ceded all decision making to their Chairman without oversight. While the Sox Board were sleeping, Jerry was prolonging a dysfunctional relationship with Ken Williams and Rick Hahn who, near the end of their tenures, were almost begging to be fired. And by the way, what was/were the precipitating cause(es) of their dismissal without notice? Possibly a recording of a little chit chat they had amongst themselves mocking Jerry? You don't get shown the door by Jerry unless they showed some real contempt or possibly were caught in some impropriety. Anyway, those two hangers on played the Reinsdorfs and the Sox Board, bleeding the organization for every dime they could get out of them....money that the team now could better use to hire more competent trustworthy management. I welcomed their dismissal but hoped JR would have taken the time to hire a dynamic GM, someone who possessed some of the qualities of a Dave Dumbrowski or Theo Epstein ....a GM committed to do what it would take, including making bold trades and FA signings to turn this team around. Instead they hire a young man who reminds me of another .. well never mind. This young GM warns that rebuilding will take a long time so you know, he has some self created job security during that prolonged process. And Getz suggests that there will not be any major FA signings as the Sox continue to "develop" players - most of whom will never become mlb players let alone difference makers. This entire organization needs to be blown up from top to bottom. Whether that gets done with a major reorganization and retirement of JR or a sale to a Mark Cuban type, I would have some hope for the Sox moving forward. "The Letter"? Not enough, not nearly enough.

Dear Sox fans
WSox will improve and move toward being a .500 team at some point down the road but realistically, the WSox are one of several (20 or so) MLB teams that will likely never win a World Series during the next several decades or as long as the current financial structure and rules of MLB remain. Cry all you want but it is what it is. And that will be the case long after JR is Chairman of the Board.

Oh you forgot boystown and tattooville. Cub organization is on a sugar high right now with all the Ricketts money thrown their way. Meanwhile, it is still on the Northside where Southsiders seldom tred or park. Bill Melton had some nice comments during an old tribute during the 2005 Sox parade. He spoke about the gentrification that already started back then in an around Bridgeport and the Halsted business corridor. I miss Melton's perspective since he actually knows all of Chicago for decades.

Sox fans have seen enough...
I'd sign Santander in a second if JR would pay. A couple of years hitting 40+ HR would lift the team up from where it has been. Sox don't have any player or any prospect that can hit 40. Sox need a couple of hitters, preferably two or three who can hit 30+ HR.

Sox fans have seen enough...
Sign two or three players that hit and the team improves a lot. Open the pocketbook and sign a few big names like Santander.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
DPI Institute (a building remindful of the Helmut Jahn's James R. Thompson Center) will be on a small 1.5 acre site (at the South end of the 78) donated by Related and funded by grants from the State of Illinois, U of I, and private entities like the Pritzker Institute. Related has long been seeking an anchor tenant as aggressively as a strip mall owner. Perhaps a sports facility could potentially make sense there with careful planning for parking, ingress/egress, etc.. However that is not the case here. Ther stadium is shoehorned in to a massive commercial development. The pressure exerted by Related Development to obtain an anchor tenant (formerly Amazon et.al.) and on benefactors including Illinois and Chicago tax payers, is overwrought, ugly and laughable. As a life-long WSox fan, I fear that moving Comiskey into a congested commercial site like that would diminish attendance and eventually destroy the WSox franchise. The public can be gullible and easily taken by grifters like Related Development. Knowing that and evaluating the proposal as it is, I don't want our WSox and our fans to fall for this stunt. https://chicagoyimby.com/2024/03/discovery-partners-institute-begins-accepting-construction-bids-at-the-78-megadevelopment.html

Getz help KC LAD make Top Ten deadline additions
I was more upset when Getz bypassed the best available hitter at that point in the Draft only to have KC select him with the next pick. Sox needed hitting and still do. What was up with that? No matter how talented a pitcher is coming out of the Draft there is a substantial risk of arm/elbow injury. IMO, a better strategy would be to trade for pitchers and Draft position player talent. Obviously that theory goes out the window when you bring up Chris Sale or other stars, but as a general strategy, that is what I would have liked to have seen implemented. But then again, I am just another Monday morning QB here.

Sox/ISFA already own the site of the original Comiskey Park. Build there and for God's sake, this time respect the Architect and Architecture of the original. Don't fvk up again My Savarice.

Well no parking and no plan for sensible vehicular ingress/egress which is complicated by rail lines and the respective grade of surrounding streets. No plans for increased safety measures for fans relegated to using the increasingly dangerous/deadly mass transportation lines...just give us the money baby. Anyway, who designed that abomination? Related? Why show all those 300, 500, 700 level upper decks filled with fans? We know that will seldom or maybe never happen. No walk around as in the current park connecting most fans. What connects all the disjointed decks? Elevators? No center field concourse usable for most fans. On the exterior, what materials and elements? Brick? Split Palladian windows? Any sense of the architectural historical elements of the original Comiskey? Maybe pay sod father to walk across 35th street and throw a sand field in using Comiskey park's original home plate. - Sox looking at building in South Loop
