  1. You can't be a pussy and be afraid of injuring yourself. If you play in fear, you do not play competitively or at your best. That is what Benetti and Stone decided to brand Eloy with...for the rest of his career. Shame on them. Every major league player gets hurt. How about Burger? Call him stupid and limiting to DH after multiple injuries? How about Grandal? Robert? Engel? Eloy sent a message tonight, He is not afraid.
  2. I said he can be a premier Closer if he wanted to...That would provide longevity for a guy that throws 100moh like it did for Goose Gossage - about 2o years. Sometimes you learn. sometimes you teach.. But try to listen instead of getting triggered so easily.
  3. It is one thing to have power but to hit bombs in clutch game situations...that is something else...that is what Eloy has done.
  4. Eloy can play wherever the fvk he wants. So Sorry.
  5. He is slow no matter where you play him. Extremely slow.
  6. We've got time to come back if Cease gets it together.
  7. Vaughn made easy plays out of fly balls. Hard line drives that he has to come in on....not so much. He is a first basemen/ DH.
  8. Don't throw him a fastball on 3-2..
  9. Should have had at least one run there to take some pressure off Cease.
  10. Eloy once again does something positive and does not get hurt !
  11. Steady defense in first Inning by Eloy and Abreu. Let's get a few runs to back up Cease.
  12. The narrative about Eloy's injury has been exaggerated and promoted incessantly. His injury reaching over a fence was a freak, one-time accident in an unusual circumstance. So was his injury celebrating after a victory or one running the bases. You can add up the injuries that Grandal or other players have had and make a similar list. Anyway, he will play some games in Left Field so i guess some will be disappointed while others will wait until Eloy twists and ankle or bruises his knee and is out for a week so that they can say "I told you so." Me, I am glad he is back and can't wait to see him playing next to his friend and fellow countryman, Luis Robert. The two have a friendship and chemistry out there that is entertaining to watch.
  13. That is a good point. Indeed, sometimes a star player has a lot to say about where they play, or in the case of Eloy, don't play in the field. Trea though has played in the outfield for 80 major league games so it would not be a stretch. It's probably a moot point because people are psyched about Vaughn after his his current hitting streak. If he was in a mid-season slump he might be viewed as tradeable.
  14. I would not offer Vaughn but assuming arguendo you had a deal = Trea for Vaughn. You then acquire Escobar or another rental for the balance of 2021 to play. 2B. in 2022 you either sign Trea for a few years or let him go to arbitration, but he is on the roster. Trea has played many games in CF and is one of the leagues fastest players. So you potentially have 4-5 outfielders - Cespedes, Colas, Robert and Eloy and Trea Plus you have Madrigal back at second base. If Rodon can be extended you are virtually guaranteed another play-off appearance.
  15. The Nats waited too long to get equivalent value in any trade for Trea. Sox would pick up the balance of his '21 salary ($6.5 Mil.) plus a bucket of balls. OK, they can have ReyLo back....and Adam Eaton if they can find him.
