  1. Read what was actually written, not what you think was written,.
  2. Covid infections appear to have gained momentum in certain areas of the country, particularly among the un-vaccinated. I suspect several of the so-called "break-through" cases are bulsh1t.. Some might be the result of false positive tests, flu symptoms erroneously reported as break through covid nfections, or positive tests for the virus where there are few if any symptoms for the previously vaccinated. Benetti has to remain in quarantine for a while because a Covid outbreak is the last thing the sox need right now
  3. Nobody said that. Some dude said it was "cute" to think that Eloy doesn't have to play where they make him play . I responded that Eloy cannot be forced to DH against his will. Frankly the way he hits the ball, Eloy can play wherever he wants as far as I am concerned. He is by far, the best and most clutch hitter on the team.
  4. Yeah some maybe did not realize Sheets is hitting for a low BA because he has not had that many at-bats and he has hit into some tough luck including several line drives hit into the shift. I am not sure that was the primary reason he was sent down though. It may have been done to avoid DFAing Lamb in order to open a roster spot.
  5. Parental misbehavior at their kid's games is an entirely different issue ( than sexual abuse) and I am afraid it is not going away any time soon. Anyone here try to umpire a Little League game? You know.
  6. That was a fun win but realistically, the Cubs' starting pitcher was throwing batting practice and their lineup might be the worst in the majors. The Cubs want to tank the season to obtain the highest position they can in next year's Draft. We were in that position not long ago.
  7. Not sure I want to see Vaughn in the line-up against any decent RH starter, but against a AAA team with a AA starter... what difference does it make? Sox are going to whip the Cubs tonight no matter who is in the line-up.
  8. Not sure what you mean. I was referring to the age of the victim, now 25 who was a few years younger when the alleged abuse occurred. I hope he has a good lawyer.
  9. The Penn State/ Sandusky, Blackhawks/ Aldrich, OSU/Strauss sexual abuse scandals were disturbing, but here, the victim who has autism makes this even worse. There has to be a higher standard of conduct required for organized sports teams at every level. What I mean by that is that anyone who even suspects or has knowledge of abuse should suffer some consequences if they fail to report it. In the meantime, make an example out of the offenders and those who stood by and said nothing. I recall Hawk Harrelson praising Omar Vizquel for his playing abilities. Hawk must have been disgusted when he heard about this as I am sure Vizquel's former teammates like Jim Thome are as well. I hope the young man gets a good lawyer.
  10. Grandal is a big player (225 lbs. ?) so crouching down to receive pitches and then having to explode into a throwing posture to catch a base runner will be a tall order so soon after his surgery. If he can make it back 100%, that would be an incredible lift. Collins had been pining for an opportunity to show his abilities at the major league level for several years. Now that he has arrived and received substantial playimng time, I am not sure it was worth the wait. He is just OK....as a back-up catcher. If Yaz can't return to catch this season, I hope Hahn can somehow bring in another catcher for the play-off run.
  11. Cesar Hernandez at 2B makes the Madrigal for Kimbrel trade easier to accept, at least until Hernandez' contract is up next year. Hernandez defense and home run power make me wonder why Cleveland let the Sox get him. Now , with the return of our starting LFer , CFer, and hopefully catcher, we are going to be ready to roll at just the right time.
  12. I think that is right Cali. I wonder if there is any chance the Sox try to sign Rodon to an extension before the play-offs as a gesture of extreme confidence in him .
  13. Vaughn is a 1B/ DH long term. He is as slow as molasses.
  14. Gavin sheets single knocked in what ended up being the winning run in the 8-6 victory. That kind of of got lost in the midst of that home run barrage.
  15. Kimbrell blows face and gets his balls busted at Wrigley. His-to-ree as Hawk used to say.
  16. Cody will come in for the fvlking save.
  17. I hated that fvking trade. and I still do.
  18. Reason you leave Lance roll in the 7th for thr first batter is because you never if a pitcher has control right away when he comes in from the pen. It is not always a bad decision. You are not smarter than LaRussa.
  19. It's hot and humid out there. These guys want to finish this out and hit the AC clubhouse.
