White Sox looking at Grandal
Thank you for the response, Rick. Are you still chasing Machado or Harper? Rick: "Uhmm I think that Grandal is a asolid defensive catcher that can add a great influx of veteran talent to our 25-man roster. As for Harper and Machado, I think some stones are better left to be open for interpretation, as we may remain in contact with them to give a potential unique talent to our 25-man roster, Uhhhmm I believe that this 2019 White Sox team will be better with the influx of young talent on our 25-man roster and will develop into a future perennial playoff team, which uhmmmm has the potential of winning multiple championships."

Update per Heyman: White Sox one of 3 teams meeting Machado
I see no issue with that.... I'm in the financial services sector and the higher ups try to make it casual any time they can.

Sox acquire Alex Colome For Narvaez
I mean, Seby did demonstrate OBP prior to AAA, so maybe he can come back from the down year in that category.

Sox acquire Alex Colome For Narvaez
While this is true that his HR/FB% increased in '18, I believe that if he just keeps that curveball (slurve?) down & faces more lefties, he will be effective at GRF. I think he's a solid #2/3 option in any pen. Looks like, according to frangraphs, he likes to pound the mid-away & mid-down part of the plate on 12.8% of his pitches in 2018.... mid away is perfect for the cutter, I'd feel, and that middle down would be perfect for an in the dirt curveball/ slider. I believe his cutter is his primary pitch, to no surprise we have the guy that teaches the expertise of that pitch.

Sox acquire Alex Colome For Narvaez
Anyone think that Seby can replace Narvez's offensive production? I think it will be similar... Albeit Seby may have slightly more pop, but it could be dead even.

Wouldn't sleep on Colome either, he can step in for some saves and had decent peripherals. Believe he has 2 more years of control too.

Sox acquire Alex Colome For Narvaez
I'd be ok with this. They must be high on Seby, which I'm all for....

I don't mind this, but I do NOT want Grandal. Dangit.

Rick Renteria Signs Contract Extension, length unknown
Honestly, Manny isn't going to care what RR will have to say about hustling if a $340M / 10Y and a front-loaded opt out after 4 is staring him in the face. ala $40M, $40M, $38M, $36M (154/4; $38.5M avg). That would let him opt out once he's 30 and give him another shot at which will probably be a $400+M deal in the future, if he continues his current pace.

Kopech the latest MLB player with questionable Twitter history
Granted the tweets weren’t right, but he was 17... I remember when I was 17, geez. Let it go.

Leury to DL, LaMarre Called Up, Smith back
I don't think Avi makes it through waivers if they call up Eloy this year.... I'd like to think Delmonico goes down, but I have this feeling it will be PalkaSmash.

White Sox at Tampa 8.5 game thread
Definitely agree. He’s almost the equivalent of Adam Dunn without the walks. Kind of fun to watch if I do say so myself.

If Palka ever learned how to walk, he’d be a pretty good offensive player.
