Call me crazy, just a hunch, even though the market may not align, a Melky trade may surprise some people. Maybe similar to what Beltran went from NYM to SFG for Zack Wheeler back in '11. Similar age, similar numbers, similar below average defensive skills (range), similar salary (Beltran may have been at 16 or 17M at the time), and both rentals. Granted Beltran played CF/RF at the time.may be too optimistic, but hey, have to have a comparison to something.

I would take Arenado over Machado any day of the week and twice on Saturday. He's hands down the best offensive & defensive 3B in baseball; his glove is immaculate at 3rd base. It's fun watching him.

Harper isn't coming here unless we somehow offer him 10/$450M or something absurd like that. Machado I think we may have a decent shot at. At least more so than Harper. I'd prefer Harper over Machado, but I would gladly take one of the two. Can't be upset with any of them.
