  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) But does that remove a suitor for Jones? I doubt it. Can never have enough quality bullpen arms, just like starters.
  2. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:34 AM) Wow. Brew crew got Dubon, Shaw, and Pennington for that reliever Dubon had sick stats at AA - could be a starting SS/2B somewhere in a few years Should tell you how much more valuable relief pitching has gotten over he past two years. Also should tell you how much more value Nate Jones has than just the deal mentioned above.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 07:51 AM) So who wants to guess what is going on here? Do we think a package based on Giolito and Robles is an acceptable framework for the Sox? And that we are just haggling, as Rosenthal said, over the remaining pieces? I'm going to guess we still are asking for Turner in any deal. I know some folks think that is ridiculous, and I am not saying I don't agree, but my guess is this deal would be pretty close to done by now if we were ok with Giolito and Robles as the headliners. My guess is Hahn and Co are still asking for Turner, Giolito and Robles, while Washington is willing to agree to the latter two. Then, if Boston jumps in with an offer of either Benintendi or Moncada, but not the other pieces we desire, we can go back to Washington asking for Turner. That's just my feeling for how the Sox are hoping this will go. This. I agree with you 110%.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:57 PM) I forgot, how did they screw us When Adam Dunn was available and then we inevitably snagged him in f/a.
  5. May be in the minroity, but this definitely sounds like a ploy for Boston to UP their offer and have the nationals get desperate and deal Turner. May be crazy, but I think it's a legitimate shot.
  6. Good, as it should be. Hold your ground, someone will get desperate. If they don't, their loss and we keep him and try again at the mid-season & next off-season, albeit a great free agency.
  7. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 01:00 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 2m2 minutes ago Nats are said to stepping for Sale. Meeting this aft. Red Sox are involved, and others, too. Things are heating up! LET'S $#@$^$ GO!!! Stepping up means you put Turner, Giolito/Robles and drop your brass balls on the table.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Tyson Ross This screams Sox as a filler in the rotation when/of Sale is traded.
  9. WE'RE ALL IN!!!! But really, this deal isn't bad at all.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) I will say that the Sox settle on one monster headliner and upside for Sale and do this: Astros Receive: LHP Chris Sale White Sox Receive: INF Alex Bregman 1B/DH AJ Reed RHP David Paulino OF Preston Tucker OF Jason Martin Here are a few more: St. Louis Receives: Adam Eaton and Dan Jennings White Sox Receive: OF Harrison Bader 3B Paul DeJong RHP Jack Flaherty RHP Sandy Alcantara RHP Dakota Hudson Los Angeles Dodgers Receive: Todd Frazier and Zach Putnam White Sox Receive: 2B/DH Willie Calhoun RHP Jordan Sheffield Boston Red Sox Receive: RHP David Robertson White Sox Receive: C Blake Swihart Texas Rangers Receive: OF Melky Cabrera White Sox Receive: LHP Cole Ragans Keep Abreu, Nate Jones, Quintana, Gonzalez for now. I hope you meant Kyle Tucker. Preston Tucker isn't really appealing and is, in my opinion, a DFA candidate if he does poorly to start the season.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) There were rumors from connected insiders that the Astros offered a Springer based package for Same in July, which the Sox obviously passed on. Doubt a few months will change their mind. Bregman is the guy, though I am intrigued by your idea of both. I do remember this as well... I think they may be posturing for both. Not holding my breath, but it makes sense.
  12. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) I'm really curious why Houston seems so eager to move Springer. He seemingly fits in well in that clubhouse and fits perfectly on paper with Correa, Altuve, ect. I mean from what I'm gathering is that they are going out and acquiring bats and need one big pitching piece. Reddick, an OF, going after Beltran to DH, Gattis is a DH/partial LF/1B/C, McCann brought into catch... something has got to give, unless they are planning to continue playing Springer in CF.
  13. Screw it, if they want to rebuild on the fly and not do a total overhaul, why not try for Bregman AND Springer, maybe someone like Daz Cameron as a third piece.... I'd be perfectly ok with that deal. May not live up to people's standards or expectations, but I'd be very excited to watch the Sox next year. I have a feeling if we deal with HOU, we end up with Springer. Been saying it all along and just have a gut feeling.
  14. QUOTE (Carpe Diem @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) In regards for the Sale derby. Red Sox actually appear to be telling the truth when they say they won't pony up the price it would take to get Sale. Apparently Bregman and Springer are being dangled (not together) but the team still would ideally prefer trading him to the NL. Take this with a grain of salt if you want, but my source has been right about everything he has said so far dating back to 2014. Had a strong hunch that we'd want him.
  15. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 05:02 PM) What's up Billy boy? Rick, How's it going buddy? I'm looking to get in the Frazier derby possibly and slide Yunel back to SS. What did you have in mind?
  16. I said Houston. Have a feeling they'll make a strong push, especially if they include George Springer. Have this weird feeling they would, don't know why.
  17. Odds are that we have started a bidding now that the Bankees want in. Bankees will try hard to not let him go to Boston; Boston will try hard not to let him to go NYY, but Cashman will force DD's hand and DD will pony up. This is going to be a three headed race between LAD-BOS-NYY and a darkhorse HOU. I think Texas bows out because they don't want to trade Odor or Mazara. Nationals won't bend, Rizzo in the past has been a pretty stingy negotiator and goes for the free agency route. I think Houston only as a darkhorse because they have George Springer. Just my two cents, speculating. Have a feeling Springer would be a guy the Sox would go after before Bregman.
  18. It's probably Shields as the main piece. It's probably going to happen now that they have Reddick, just My hunch.
  19. I'm extremely sorry for your loss. This made me tear up as soon as I heard the news. Stay strong brother. If you need anything, we are here for you.
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) In other news, here's a snapchat I just received from Yoan Moncada! This makes me laugh. I wish this was true.
  21. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) the mystery team on lucroy isn't on no-trade list. so, it seems like brewers have played this well. have 3+ good options. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/759552301145157632 Would be such a White Sox move to pick up Lucroy. Although I wouldn't mind Lucroy, but the time is not right to do so.
  22. Personally, if it was me, I would keep Q and deal Sale. You may actually have the chance to resign him after 2020, if you so choose. Sale is an ace, but he can potentially bring you the greatest value. And we never truly know if his arm will snap or not, NO JYNXES. Q may be less of a risk and can still potentially take the anchor.
