  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 12:52 PM) Back to back tweets The Chicago #Whitesox say they would have to be overwhelmed by offer to trade Jose Abreu, who's a powerful clubhouse influence. Unlikely to be traded -Nightengale Abreu and Avisail are being mentioned in trade talk. Garcia, who had nice year (tho not as nice as Abreu) may actually be the more likely one to go. #chisox - Heyman This is what I have believed to be true all along. Have a feeling Avi is gone.
  2. QUOTE (Quin @ Dec 8, 2017 -> 10:27 PM) Jenks, Thornton, Kahnle, Santos, Reed off the top of my head for some reasons. Damaso Marte, Neal Cotts (‘05)
  3. Even if he gets dealt and he will probably test FA waters, I still think the Sox make a huge push for him. I believe signing Wellington was the first implication of that. If we have to trade for him in order to get him, minimal assets should be given up for him, especially without a contract. That isn’t going to happen. Wait until next offseason when he’s free.
  4. I like this move. Less than I’d thought he’d get.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 20, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) The guy's power plays anywhere. Miami isn't quite a hitter's park. This. Very true. I think if he'd play at the Cell (Rate) he could very well reach 65 bombs.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 20, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) There's an interesting team at #1 here... ESPN: Finding the best spot for Giancarlo Stanton My God he does look good in that uniform. Too bad. A move like this will not & should not happen until 19/2020. The only way I'd deal for him is if we somehow were able to give Yolmer and Fulmer for Stanton and about $80-90MM, which isn't happening.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 09:41 AM) He actually doesn't though and the results in big games proved it. /green
  8. Another Brazilian, paging Andre Rienzo!
  9. I’d be down with Lucroy. Always been a fan of his since Milwaukee. I’d be ok with a Matt Winters-esque deal for him. 2y/21m, second year being a 10.5M team option.
  10. The A’s always do things that are counterproductive to their rebuild, I’m not surprised that they’d try and buy Avi. Although, it makes a little more sense, because Avi has 2y left of control. But, then again, they traded for Jon Lester to try and beat the unstoppable regular season Angels at that point. Same with 2009 and Matt Holliday. Angels just ran the table back in those days.
  11. Sucks man. I remember every time the Sox went to Toronto dreading to face Doc. Had one of the best back door Curves I've seen.
  12. In my opinion, I think Putnam gets non-tendered, then resigned for a cheaper price... Even though he is an injury risk, it's worth gambling on him at, say, around 800k. I know we need arms, but I really hope Petricka isn't back. Get him out of here. Knowing the Sox, he may be a guy they non-tender and try and do a MLC on. That I'd feel better about, but still.
  13. On a positive note for the "un-tanking" process is that we are winning with the youngins.... And maybe James Shields can be a passable 5th starter?
  14. I want to lose as many games as possible, but this win I will take everytime. Gio was absolutely on fire yesterday. Scary part is that we still have Dunning to see how he moves through the ranks next year.... and that he may be the best piece of the Eaton trade.
  15. QUOTE (Quin @ Aug 29, 2017 -> 07:00 PM) Hypothetically if the Sox claimed Stanton, who's the highest rated prospect you'd be willing to part with? May be going against everyone here, but I'd give them Carson Fulmer, especially if the organization projects him as a reliever. Although that could be too high.
  16. Believe me, I know how that goes... it's hard to break from adderall/vyvanse, makes you feel like a superhuman. Definitely understand his pain and respect him for stopping. You're better without it! Definitely feels better without it, your overall mood. Have to respect the Sox not just valuing these players as just employees, but treating them like human beings. & caring for their emotions.

    Tebow

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 10:11 PM) Why would you be mad about that? He's better than Matt Moore and instantly becomes the 2nd best QB in the division Matt Moore is actually ok. Two different styles of arm though, ones got a pop gun arm, ones a gunslinger.
  18. It'll be a tank this year, then a top 10-12 pick next year, in my opinion. 2018-19 is going to be the free agent class we go hard on. 2017-18 free agency may be a guy that can contribute in some way on the '19 squad, but I think it'll mainly be depth guy signings. This upcoming offseason is kind of meh, 2018-19 is the one to go after.

    Tebow

I don't think it's worth it. And at the moment, I'm just still bitter about my Dolphins signing Cutler (albeit did well with Gase) & even considering Tebow for a comeback to football. Already have one team that is being clowned on, don't need another.
  20. Over/under 32 HR & 80 RBI for Davidson this year? Woo another shower!
  21. I think Gonzo goes, think he has the highest probability.
