  1. QUOTE(blacksaturdayrevisted @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) For the record, as soon as I read Kapkomet's PM about removing the message in my signature, I did. What's happening now is an unauthorized vendetta against me being acted out by moderators without authority. And for the record, I'm not pissed about any of this, I just asking for an explanation, and an end to the removal of all the evidence of the evening. PA PA -- Calling us "f***ing fascists", calling me and GHC as "2 mods worth crap", insinuating that because we didn't want you to pointlessly gay bash with fake quotes that we were Big Brother violating policies you agreed with when you signed up for ST-- that's why we indeed had the authority to give you some time to cool off.
  2. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) No Carlin, Apu? Some people may consider our President to be there unintenional favorite stand up comedian.... Carlin is pretty good. His albums "Parental Advisory" and "Complaints and Grievances" have me laughing my ass off but he's no Kinison, Bruce or Hicks that just seem to nail observations on an entirely different level. If you haven't seen it, watch Bill Hicks' "Relentless" performance. I cannot stop laughing with the stuff he brings up.
  3. I've been listening to a lot of stand up lately and am even thinking about doing some on the down low at open mic nights on campus. I know there was a thread like this in the past, but I was too lazy to find it. So I wanted to see who peoples' favorite stand up comedians are. My top 5 favorites have gotta be: 1. Lenny Bruce 2. Bill Hicks 3. Richard Pryor 4. Sam Kinison 5. David Cross Honorable mentions: Dane Cook, Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, Mitch Hedberg, Dave Chappelle
  4. It's not exactly a film but the estate of Bill Hicks released "Bill Hicks: Satirist, Social Critic, Stand-Up Comedian LIVE" recently (along with the book "Love All the People") Just watched some of it yesterday -- his performance at the Old Vic Theater in Chicago. It is sad that he died as young as he did because he was so damn hilarious.
  5. Wow, so these are the ethics and values being promoted by the new manifestation of the Republican party (I mean no insult to actual conservatives like Ron Paul etc.)
  6. I watched all of Dodgeball (heavily inebriated on rum) and it was just an hour and a half of lame ass crotch humor. The whole "HAHAHAHAHA Man hit in groin with ball!" gets old damn fast. It's almost like Stiller tries to damn hard to do as much stupid s*** as possible in an attempt to be funny -- and fails horribly.
  7. Nuke -- when the PATRIOT Act was passed, we were given the guarantee by Ashcroft and Co. that it would be use to go after terrorists. Now when the Act is used in anti-obscenity cases (like the prosecution of Extreme Associates), that's wrong. Producing movies like "Sucking Cock Is Good For Your Health" may be a stupid film but it is not terrorism. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, one of only three Republican lawmakers to buck the House leadership and the Bush administration to vote against this legislation, is outraged not only by what is contained in the antiterrorism bill but also by the effort to stigmatize opponents. Paul tells Insight, "The insult is to call this a 'patriot bill' and suggest I'm not patriotic because I insisted upon finding out what is in it and voting no. I thought it was undermining the Constitution, so I didn't vote for it and therefore I'm somehow not a patriot. That's insulting." Paul confirms rumors circulating in Washington that this sweeping new law, with serious implications for each and every American, was not made available to members of Congress for review before the vote. "It's my understanding the bill wasn't printed before the vote at least I couldn't get it. They played all kinds of games, kept the House in session all night, and it was a very complicated bill. Maybe a handful of staffers actually read it, but the bill definitely was not available to members before the vote." And why would that be? "This is a very bad bill," explains Paul, "and I think the people who voted for it knew it and that's why they said, 'Well, we know it's bad, but we need it under these conditions.'" Meanwhile, efforts to obtain copies of the new law were stonewalled even by the committee that wrote it. http://www.washtimes.com/national/20040405-121346-4789r.htm Bob Barr: "I don't care if there were no examples so far. We can't say we'll let government have these unconstitutional powers in the Patriot Act because they will never use them. Besides, who knows how many times the government has used them? They're secret searches."
  8. Fields from the Panthers comes back from suffering through Hodgkins and he loses out on the award to Drew Goddamn Brees who suffered from simply sucking major donkey balls. This is a travesty.
  9. Damn...I'm down at my place in Urbana for a few days and all we got was a few flurries and a little ice. I almost feel cheated.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) They need to give Iguchi what he wants ... $2.3 per for two years. Step up and offer AJ $2.3 also ... He'll take it. And one more thing KW .... offer me $300K per year as a consultant and I'll take it! I just found a picture of YASNY
  11. Per the Score this afternoon (circa 3 pm) when I was getting my hair cut there's a chasm of only $580K between the Sox offer and what Iguchi wants. So there's a possibility/probability that he could be signed as well to join the 2005 South Side Hitmen.
  12. I was in the barber shop getting my hair cut when I heard this news. Note: The barber does look at you weirdly when you start saying "f*** yes!" for what he thinks is no reason. And also per the Score, there is a difference of about $600,000 during negotiations between the Sox and Iguchi. So we could possibly get him as well.
  13. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) So what? If the Patriot Act helps put this asshole away for a long time then so be it. Yes because shooting a plane with a laser pointer is the equivalent of accessorizing with dynamite.
  14. Who greenlighted Kid Rock? http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article....RTICLE_ID=42260
  15. Juggs, if you're such the supporter of free speech then you'd be against the government using the PATRIOT Act at all. Sorry but DSWM (Doing Stuff While Muslim) does not mean that they automatically deserve to go on a watch list and get harassed by the government. And sorry, we don't need a domestic KGB or Stasi in the United States to patrol America. The government, to paraphrase US Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), failed to show where having the civil liberties that the PATRIOT Act curtails negatively impacted the efforts to prevent 9-11 before it happened. What happened was that the PATRIOT Act was a grab bag of every a bunch of things the Justice Department wanted for years but could not get through because they were so odious to the Constitution. **Whammo** (9/11) Seize on everybodys' fears, print out the bill, don't let people read it, give it a sweet sounding name and we got the makings of a domestic Stasi. USA PATRIOT Act: Unneeded Safeguard Abolition Preparing Americans to Readily Ignore Overt Totalitarianism -- that's what the acronym should really stand for.
  16. The illusion of safety. Man, I feel better that this cold hearted bastard is gonna be off the streets for 25 years. The reason that there are prosecutions like this is so their conviction rates go up and the government can say "We're fighting terrorism! Look at our conviction rates!" when they are absolute bulls*** since most of the cases are not terrorism. (as seen in using the PATRIOT Act against strip clubs and adult entertainment firms that have nothing to do with terrorist threats)
  17. It was originally on Comedy Central but outside of that I dunno where it aired. "Give them the baby. Go Sawks!"
  18. There have been plenty of abuses of the PATRIOT Act from the investigation of strip clubs that had nothing to do with terrorism (http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2003/Nov-05-Wed-2003/news/22521283.html) There have also been lots of indictments filed against porn companies via the PATRIOT Act (Don't have an article for it -- a few acquaintances of mine work at adult stores so I get a lot of info about the industry) There's no doubt that the PATRIOT Act is being abused against people who have no connection to terrorism. I mean, Hell, the General Accounting Office said that most of the people being charged with "terrorism" actually have nothing to do with terrorism. It's just more of the illusion of safety.
  19. http://www.transbuddha.com/mediaHolder.php?id=145 I saw this on Transbuddha -- granted I've been up for 28+ hours by now (stupid insomnia) and laughed so much. Figured I'd sare it.
  20. QUOTE(shagar69 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) well if you dont think will farell has talent your a f***in moron. do u watch SNL or have you seen Old School or Anchorman? How is that not funny? and BTW, your friend and you can both go f*** yourselves Actually Will Farrell is mildly entertaining. But in Old School, the funniest moments are Vince Vaughn's by far. To put Farrell on par with actors like Harvey Keitel is complete lunacy. Will Ferrell isn't even in the list of top 25 comics in film of all time. He's mildly entertaining -- but thin, 1 dimentional characters get very old very fast and get very boring.
  21. QUOTE(shagar69 @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) saw reservoir dogs today. i dont understand why people think its such a great movie. i would give it like a C+, it wasnt anything special My friend read that and he said: "Why are people retarded? Seriously, I hope you can't breed. I can believe that somebody would not like Reservoir Dogs but when they say that Will Ferrell has talent, that negates any complaints they have about Reservoir Dogs."
  22. I was f***ing around with Paint and made this -- fast and dirty...
  23. Thanks SS2K5 -- It looks like the other one came June 30, 1999 against Jon Lieber also
  24. One handed pitcher Jim Abbott, during his final season with the Brewers, got 2 singles. My question is what pitchers gave up the hits? A friend and I are having a raging argument about this so any assistance would be much appreciated.
