I get the impression the White Sox had just about zero interest in signing Escobar to be their primary 2B, especially for multiple years.

I believe there is where most of Kimbrel’s value is. A team can acquire an (arguably) elite closer for a “win-now” season without handing out a large multi-year deal. They also would not have to get into a monetary bidding war with another team. If the team has expendable resources, they can simply acquire Kimbrel for one season at a predetermined salary.

I was able to watch him slappa da ball a little tonight while I had on the replay of the Rodon no-hitter.

So wait, they told Kimbrel he might close sometimes and they planned on letting him close sometimes, but he pitched himself out a closer role before he got a chance? Then he continued to pitch poorly because of this? And he was big mad? Is that the story? Honestly asking.

So La Russsa went against what was decided within the organization when they traded for him? From everything I understand, La Russa is essentially the second GM, and he wasn’t involved in the talks about acquiring him and what the game plan would be when they did?

I enjoy the White Sox acquiring good players. I enjoy the White Sox improving their team.

I guess that’s one way summarize/describe the guy.

I get including Vaughn in a package for Reynolds, but is it also Vaughn for Gurriel/Hernandez?

He’s a big strong boy.

Vaughn is worth much more than 1 or 2 years of Nola. If they aren’t getting a cheap and controllable SP for Vaughn, I hope they’d just shell out the cash in free agency.
