Good point.

From what I’ve read, they can discuss trades and probably “handshake” agree to them, but they cannot actually complete any trades officially.

Sure thing, George Washington.

I just posted something similar before I made it to yours. This whole thread is baffling.

Being mad about this is strange.

Something fishy is going on here, guys.

I don’t buy any of the Mets/Scherzer stuff. The delivery of all the writers is odd.

That would be funny if the Sox signed Scherzer tonight.

Or say they went with a different “prospect” last minute. I just find it funny the only name he’s saying now is a name no one cares about on either side. Doesn’t make for a very “juicy” rumor.

Portillos that out of touch to make Moniak a focal point of a trade rumor?

How soon is now?

Is it almost here??

One of my least favorite trades ever.

Posters are a great idea.

I know I’d like to look at Ray run in those spandex.

Has anyone here completed a trade yet? Struggling with this patience concept.

I get the impression the White Sox had just about zero interest in signing Escobar to be their primary 2B, especially for multiple years.

I believe there is where most of Kimbrel’s value is. A team can acquire an (arguably) elite closer for a “win-now” season without handing out a large multi-year deal. They also would not have to get into a monetary bidding war with another team. If the team has expendable resources, they can simply acquire Kimbrel for one season at a predetermined salary.

Edit: Oops. I guess that’s one way to fix my typo.

I was able to watch him slappa da ball a little tonight while I had on the replay of the Rodon no-hitter.

So wait, they told Kimbrel he might close sometimes and they planned on letting him close sometimes, but he pitched himself out a closer role before he got a chance? Then he continued to pitch poorly because of this? And he was big mad? Is that the story? Honestly asking.

So La Russsa went against what was decided within the organization when they traded for him? From everything I understand, La Russa is essentially the second GM, and he wasn’t involved in the talks about acquiring him and what the game plan would be when they did?

I enjoy the White Sox acquiring good players. I enjoy the White Sox improving their team.

I guess that’s one way summarize/describe the guy.
