Reyes and Allen were the guys with the most value in that trade. Where they hit in the order is irrelevant. They added Puig as a cheap upgrade for their atrocious outfield. They did not specifically trade Bauer to acquire Puig, to argue that is bonkers.

Cordell is a fine 4th OF. Good fielder, good speed and he can run into one once in a while. Jon Jay can ground out weakly to 2B with the best of them though.

I think Castellanos can be signed for something like 5/60.. I don’t think he has that much of a market. The Cubs can’t afford to keep him and he is kind of a bad fit for NL teams. There aren’t that many AL teams ready to contend that have an obvious need at Dh/part time OF.
