Can we start a thread to discuss the lack of success rather than filling the Harper thread with it? I am really not interested in your discussion but want to know Harper news...

Exactly... we have already discussed all the things you want to discuss... you could go re-read the threads that have all that in them if you are looking for that. Right now people only want to know if he signs with us or not...

All that has been discussed over and over and over on soxtalk... I don't see how any of that would make the thread more interesting. Now is the time for rumors and people want every little crumb of a rumor they can get.

If I am Harper I am signing during the winter meetings in my hometown where I get to be the center of attention.

These threads have major mood swings, haha. Somebody in the media says something about the sox and everybody gets happy and excited than somebody in the media mentions harpers name with yanks, LA, cubs etc and everybody gets depressed and says we have not chance...

But DA said we have pretty much no shot at either so he is gonna find what fits his narrative.

Honestly who cares if people don't believe you. There is clearly a large group of us who definitely does believe you.

If the phils land machado, I don't think Harper goes to the yanks... In the past he has said he doesn't like the city of NY and has openly complained about their rules regarding hair and made other comments indicating he isn't a fan of the yanks.

I agree! these guys should be doing nothing that could get them hurt! Especially playing baseball! He should probably be sitting or laying down for the display, that would probably be safest.

If he can tap into his raw power he probably becomes one of the top 1b prospects in baseball. But if he doesn't he will probably never see the bigs. There are really 2 outcomes here. He clearly has the power... we will see if he can use it in games.

I don't know if its that. I am a Madrigal fan but not just because he doesn't strike out. I do like that he doesn't strike out but that is not his best or most important quality.

ChiliIrishHammock24 - I have thought about acquiring Senzel as well, but why would they want a 3rd baseman in that trade. you said it yourself their infield is loaded. I would see if we could do something like Dunning, Rutherford and Basabe( or Adolfo) if we actually did sign Harper. But I don't know if they go for either one of those trades.
