When do you expect Colas to come off his Japanese deal? How long of a hold up is that going to be? I could see us fans getting anxious if Jan 15 comes and Cespedes signs elsewhere and we are still waiting for him to get out of that deal.

It should be noted that this team quit having fun the last couple weeks. Was that RRs fault or was the pressure too much for them? Did they give up on RR? I think they should find out what the players want.

I think these are situations he has taken advantage of in lower competition that have worked for him. He just needs to learn where and when he can do it in the bigs.

You realize it was for div 1 baseball right? That would include somebody like Jonathan India... I am not saying he is some great fielder but people act like he has no business trying to play 3rd when we drafted him and that is just wrong...

I strongly disagree with this statement. Even now Burger is playing 3rd after 2 Achilles tears. He also won a gold glove in college. If he makes it to the bigs he will most likely be playing 3rd. No he was never gonna be a top fielder there but he has always been able to get the job done.

I guess I am just saying that people here want to hate the FO no matter what. Maybe not him but some will only notice and point out where they got it wrong.

I’m not too worried about our system right now. We built it in a way to have our talent reach the majors at the same time. That goal has been quite successful at this point. I mean look at the talent that has graduated in the last 3 years. I expect us to start building our system younger towards when we will be losing some of our guys. I think next draft could be heavy on prep position players.

So what is it about seeing Burger that was a game changer for you? Was it just because he is healthy or did he look really good? Did you see him working at positions besides 3rd? Thanks for all this great stuff.

I’m not sure why everyone is acting like this is a definite loss... good teams lose to bad teams all the time... and we are not a bad team, even with Lopez on the mound.

This... Mendick needed a day off. It’s 1 game. You can start complaining when he is starting consistently a couple days a week.

This... He was rated highly as a prospect. This wasn’t some random reach pick. He might’ve been a slight reach according to a few pundits. If we hadn’t taken him he would’ve been picked soon after.

I think it would be smart to keep Collins up so you can use Grandal or McCann as your dh and still have a backup catcher.
