  1. Billy doesn’t belong on paper. However, he belongs in the ether zone. He’s here to stay. His input is measured in between lines.
  2. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Feb 14, 2018 -> 08:45 PM) The Cubs' rotation now has Q and Yu. And a whole bunch of L's
  3. I just want the guy to become that prized gem many MotownTiger fans saw him to be. $6/7 mil...that's nothing. He has Adam Eaton 5 tool potential. Let's see that this year.
  4. It's all good! I love the White Sox and was at the World Series when Roger Clemens was on the mound and Geoff Blum/Scott Podsednik & his hot wife became south side sensations. We are rebuilding so I'm all for the good guys going to arbitration in order to save millions. I'm in Arizona where the weather is hot and the women are hotter but I do miss Maxwell street and the Cell. One of my claims to fame is Oney Guillen picking a fight with me and getting kicked out of Cork and Kerry's back when his dad was managing. He's a pretty tall dude and claimed I spit on him. Think Newman/Kramer and Keith Hernandez. Long story short he got kicked out! He's as big headed as Ozzie is...back on topic, White Sox should fight these pay raises and keep the payroll low. Let the kids play. We are rebuilding so I'm against signing veteran free agents this season.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 14, 2018 -> 06:57 PM) They haven't even had one of these hearings since Keith Foulke. I guess you forgot about Yolmer Sanchez ESPN I'm off to read Don Quixote...
  6. Looks like the White Sox are being cheap. They keep losing arbitration hearings to the players who are basically .500 in meetings this offseason. I can't blame them because they are rebuilding. It's worth a roll of the dice to save millions of dollars.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 14, 2018 -> 01:23 PM) Especially over the Yolmer amount of $250k. That one is odd. White Sox keep losing these hearings. Are they just being super cheap? Avi might end up in LF or a DH if he doesn't work on his game, like arm strength.
  8. The lovable losers played in a very mediocre division last year and they still had to sweat it out down the stretch. I love the moves the Brewers have made this offseason. Their outfield is filthy talented and you know the St. Louis Cardinals will bounce back.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 06:53 PM) Darvish has a career postseason ERA of 5.81 Exactly. Just because the Cubs are giving up elite prospects (Eloy Jimenez) and shelling out $100 million contracts for starting pitchers doesn't mean that they are worth it. Speaking of elite prospects, I'll argue (I was right about Giolito before he debuted check my post history) that Cease is exactly the type of pitcher the Cubs need right now and not a small minded over the hill pitcher who can't perform when the lights are shining their brightest. Cubs are not going anywhere and it'll be fun to watch. Their squad will be falling apart when the south side starts rising again. No club in baseball has more under 25 talent than the Chicago White Sox.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 06:26 PM) If they win another WS in the next couple of years would it be worth it? Couple means 2, there is absolutely nothing but a minimal chance the Cubs win it. They have holes in the pen still. The playoffs, and 2005, prove that pitching wins and I'm not seeing any Mark Buehrle's on the Cubs' staff. They're not catching lightning in a bottle, again, anytime soon. In my opinion, if the Cubs don't win the NL crown this season then stick a fork in them. They'll just continue to score 10 runs a game while giving up 11. Losing Wade Davis has more impact on that squad than gaining a 33 year old SP. Davis is lights out as a closer while Darvish could not even succeed as a #3 starting pitcher in LA.
  11. Can't believe Tampa is actually building a stadium in Tampa! Long overdue and I'm all for it. Back in the Carl Crawford days, I loved watching the upstart Rays take out the Yankees. Hopefully, fickle Floridians support the Rays. Lots of transplants down there loyal to wack east coast teams like the Red Sox and Yankees.
  12. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 04:18 PM) Amazing how much time people waste on something they claim they are unhappy with. Yarvish, Quintana, these are not true aces. What did Darvish pitch for in the World Series? 2 outs? 2 innings? And he gets a $100 million contract. lol I love watching the Cubs falter. The only reason the Cubs won the chip is because Arrieta, Schwarber, and Rizzo played out their proverbial backsides. The real world has shown Schwarber sucks and the Cubs still don't have enough pitching to win. Even with this new ridiculously overpriced addition. I can't wait to see how Darvish, a fly out pitcher, fairs this Summer on the rotten North Side. Waveland Avenue is going to see a lot of action, and a lot of long faces from Cub fans. It is a weak free agent market and the Cubs just paid Darvish like he was Roger Clemens. I'm all for it.

    Chris Sale

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 9, 2017 -> 04:31 PM) It tells you something, and you don't have to be that smart to understand what and how it can be used. Sale left a lot to be desired. I've never seen a guy get a standing ovation with such an uninspiring performance. We won that trade.
  14. I hope this guy is back on the south side next season.
  15. QUOTE (Insp @ Aug 27, 2017 -> 02:22 PM) Petricka strikes again! Good! That's the only way, besides trips to the DL, the Sox can secure a top 3 pick because the line up looks good.
  16. I knew the new Gio would be better than reylo. I called it on this board before he ever threw a pitch in the big leagues. On a side note, why isn't reylo on our top 30 prospects on MLB.com anymore when Moncada and Gioloto are?
  17. Good thing the agiants are going on a tear, that way I can tolerate the phillies pulling away from us for #1 overall and the Reds getting closer to us for #2
  18. Pretty sick we have 40% of the Top 5 prospects in the game :DoOrDieSteadyPoPimpinemojii:
  19. I find it funny that people were calling this young baller slow just a few days ago then he goes and done did hit an inside the park homer
  20. I bet u gioloto out performs reylo. Aside from his first 3 innings in the big leagues, reylo hasn't impressed but he's super young still.
  21. The executives are doing everything right. The bullpen is set up to fail which is perfect because it ensures us a top 2'pick. The phillies really are the worst team in baseball Lol and their farm is nothing like ours. If our farm system is knee high by the 4th of July, philly's crops look like burnt cheese on a desert floor. They suck. It seems like with a few competent arms in the pen, we would be much better than we currently are. I'm starting to think the 2nd overall pick is too high for Seth Beer...
  22. Absolutely amazing the best gM in da game turned this piece of Bronx trash into anything! That's why Hahn is da best. Somebody give Coop a pay raise. He should be in the hall of fame when it is all said and done.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) Man, a quick worker with a dynamite breaking ball. I could get used to this. Mark Buerhle-esque?
  24. It was debateable before the Quintana trade. Eloy cease plus Rutherford and the rest of the haul we brought in before the deadline, forget about it! It's easily the Sox
  25. Oh man thanks for the link. Moncada coupled with Engel looking like Aaron Rowand the other day...I'm excited to see these young guys play a full season next year. Also, that wasn't the Phillies out there...remember that. Great game by Moncada
