October 20, 20169 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) I dont think this is true. I think they will look at it as the next step. They will see that they have progressed further in the playoffs each of the last two years and then next year is when it finally happens. If they lose to the Dodgers I think they would feel much more defeated. Yeah, the earlier the better.
October 20, 20169 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) Yeah, the earlier the better. You guys got me there.
October 20, 20169 yr QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/page/playo...ge-knotted-nlcs Found this quote from a scout interesting: "They won't beat Kershaw," he said, unequivocally. "And I think they will struggle again with Hill. Anyone who pitches in and changes speeds will have success against the Cubs right now. Any kind of downer breaking ball destroys them." Hope it wasn't a White Sox scout. Those guys blow. Evidence is the Central Division killing us. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) I dont think this is true. If they lose to the Dodgers I think they would feel much more defeated. Yes. If the Cubs make the WS it's a great season for them. NL champs. Another step. Not making the WS? Huge disappointment and some concern (still) that they'll ever get it done. s*** can happen. I go back to the Tigers dynasty that never occurred.
October 20, 20169 yr The numbers all point to an easy win for the Cubs tonight but I have this gut feeling that Maeda pulls a magic act and the Dodgers bullpen hangs on to a close low scoring game. I could be completely wrong but something tells me Maeda is due for a strong outing.
October 21, 20169 yr Terrible decision by Roberts to not start Kershaw tonight. Maeda has been beyond awful of late Edited October 21, 20169 yr by fathom
October 21, 20169 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 12:10 AM) Carlos Ruiz batting cleanup? No wonder the Dodgers stink vs LHP 0-14 in career off Lester also
October 21, 20169 yr Stupid Fail by the Dodgers not tun run on lester in the first inning, cost them at least one run.
October 21, 20169 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 01:39 AM) Ruiz is 0-16 against Lester and he is batting 4th, why? Roberts has been so dumb this series. Also don't like Kendrick so high in the order. He sucks now Edited October 21, 20169 yr by fathom
October 21, 20169 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) Ruiz is 0-16 against Lester and he is batting 4th, why? The explanation Verducci gave is because Ruiz hit two balls hard against Lester in Game 1.
October 21, 20169 yr Should be a tie game. Why Hernandez didn't take second or third with a lead like that is beyond me. You've gotta be aggressive and follow through if you wanna win.
October 21, 20169 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 01:41 AM) The explanation Verducci gave is because Ruiz hit two balls hard against Lester in Game 1. 2nd and 4th hitter now 0-32 in career vs Lester
October 21, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) 2nd and 4th hitter now 0-32 in career vs Lester Unfortunately for the Dodgers, pretty much their entire roster hits for s*** against lefties.
October 21, 20169 yr QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) Stupid Fail by the Dodgers not tun run on lester in the first inning, cost them at least one run. They completely wasted Turner's at bat because he was more thrown out of wack than Lester was. The announcers are right, you have to actually run.
October 21, 20169 yr Lester is on the best run of pitching with RISP I have ever seen. Simply unbelievable
October 21, 20169 yr Author I didn't like the deal when they signed it, but Lester = money well spent.
October 21, 20169 yr I like Sczur but that was a horrible interview. Amazing how anything and everything the Cubs do is made to seem like the biggest deal ever.
