President Donald Trump: The Thread

Featured Replies

Me too.

I was kinda just catching pieces about Trump supposedly watching a gorilla channel.

I was like that's not so bad.

Not gonna lie, it took me a minute.

I read it after I heard it was a joke, but I think I would have believed everything up until the line where it says staffers placed a broadcast tower on the south lawn.

Shocking you respond to my post with a post that is completely unrelated to my question.

No, it’s not. (And how much did Kobach’s Commission waste in tax dollars running down rampant/widespread voting fraud?)

Where do you want to continue to cut from the Federal budget, in order to lower taxes?

It’s that simple.

I have no problem paying a fair amount of taxes. I simply don’t believe that the middle class should pay a higher actual/effective rate than the Top 2-3% or corporations who exploit loopholes, accountants, offshoring, lawyers and PAC contributions to pay far less. Do you? If you think that’s just the way it is, the American Way...so be it.

I also don’t understand why we’re increasing weapons spending by huge amounts yet completely gutting the State Department. What is our strategy moving forward? Isolationism/America First or intervening with every foreign nation around the world by threatening to use force against them? To force China and Russia to work more closely together? Who is setting it? Trump? Or McMaster, Kelly and Mattis?

I didn't think the original joke was that great, but man the aftermath is just perfection.

The president is, like, really smart

You never noticed it before because it wasn't an issue; people didn't stop saying it. All of a sudden Trump and his state-sponsored media tell you that this is a thing so you start paying attention. And what do you know...you start noticing people when they say Merry Christmas!

If Trump said that people need to start saying "bless you" again when someone sneezes, you'll start noticing when people say it after you sneeze and come to the conclusion that people are now saying it again! Amazing how that works.

Why do you guys waste time explaining things to a troll?

I have actually mocked that a few times in this thread. But it is at least 5 times now I have heard or read him using those exact words.

Will a mod please change my name to "A Very Stable Genius" tia

The Kardashians, Honey Boo Boo and Paris Hilton have to qualify as well...going by this new standard of reality television success.

Shouldn’t it actually be Mark Burnett, due to multiple successes like The Apprentice, Survivor, The Voice and Shark Tank? Trump is the People’s Choice Awards of geniuses.

He can’t even recall running for president in 2000.

Should have gone with JFNJr’s A Beautiful Mind, instead. Heck, Mr. Ed was a more “stable” genius!

This might be your best post ever on this site.

And regarding Trump University...not only did it fail but he wound up paying $25M in a fraud settlement.

Well, Jerry Lewis was considered by some to be a genius, and you could find footage of him doing similar stuff.

Anyone else wake up every day and check the news just to see what crazy stuff Trump might have done while you were sleeping? It's like when I check my youngest son's grades - a mixture of apprehension and hope for the best. Fortunately, I feel like I can eventually have some influence on my son. The president, not so much.

They did? Maybe a comic genius but you really think there are/were people who would consider him an actual genius? *shrugs*

No I don't. Frankly I don't usually want to know. I only am scared over whether or not he'll actually kill anyone this week. Until then, all he's done so far is give me a 3 year tax cut in exchange for a much larger tax increase in 5 years, make my air worse, and potentially make it impossible to buy health care if I lose my job. Next on the list that affects me will likely be allowing a year or two of fraud of the sort that triggered the 2001 and 2008 economic meltdowns in the financial industry, but the bill for that doesn't come due until the federal reserve cranks interest rates up more.

In the film community, it's actually true. The genius label has to do with him as a producer. There's a really good documentary about Jerry Lewis that talks about how innovative he was. It's worth a watch, but I was kind of making a joke because I can picture Jerry Lewis doing what trump is doing in your avatar.

”Donald J. Trump is a libel bully. Like most bullies, he's also a loser, to borrow from Trump's vocabulary," the report stated. "Trump and his companies have been involved in a mind-boggling 4,000 lawsuits over the last 30 years and sent countless threatening cease-and-desist letters to journalists and critics. But the GOP presidential nominee and his companies have never won a single speech-related case filed in a public court.”

So out of curiosity I decided to go read Breitbart and see what reactions are to the Bannon/Trump thing. Shockingly, most are coming down on the side of Trump. To me this is pretty concerning, because Trump was everything that Bannon followers hate for 90% of his life. Only recently did he become a "Republican" and id say without Bannon vouching for him most wouldnt have really believed Trump was a conservative at all.

Its like they have completely bought the Trump snake oil and they dont even care what is said about him anymore. Im no Bannon fan, but to reading the comments, he is now being paid by Soros/China and is a liberal. Its pretty scary how people can cling to a leader based on a few catchphrases.

Working hard.

President Trump is starting his official day much later than he did in the early days of his presidency, often around 11am, and holding far fewer meetings, according to copies of his private schedule shown to Axios. This is largely to meet Trump’s demands for more “Executive Time,” which almost always means TV and Twitter time alone in the residence, officials tell us.

The schedules shown to me are different than the sanitized ones released to the media and public.

The schedule says Trump has "Executive Time" in the Oval Office every day from 8am to 11am, but the reality is he spends that time in his residence, watching TV, making phone calls and tweeting. Trump comes down for his first meeting of the day, which is often an intelligence briefing, at 11am.

Mods new name request, 'enormously consensual presidency'

“His is turning out to be an enormously consensual presidency. So much so that...there has never been a day that I wished Hillary Clinton were President. Not one. Indeed, as Trump’s accomplishments accumulate, the mere thought of Clinton in the W.H., doubling down on Obama’s.....

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 8, 2018

Goodwin actually wrote “his is turning out to be an enormously consequential presidency”—one of the few things we agree on—but for whatever reason, Trump’s mind seems to be circling the concept of “consent” lately. Things didn’t get better with his follow-up tweet, which, for some reason, included Goodwin’s email address.

....failed policies, washes away any doubts that America made the right choice. This was truly a change election, and the changes Trump is bringing are far-reaching and necessary.” Thank you Michael Goodwin! (Please read entire column) mgoodwin@nypost.com

Not exactly staking a claim to that genius label so far this weekend...still 30 minutes left.
