Or this: Bartolo started in Oakland last night. In his 1st start there, he opposed... Rickey Henderson, who retired 15 years ago. AJ Hinch, who is on his 2nd managing job. And Tom Candiotti, who has been a broadcaster for 18 seasons.

They're way over the tax line this year and they're going into the multi-year repeater penalties next year. I think they need a serious playoff run before they can talk about committing that kind of m

Ohtani was sandbagging all the time, haha.

Hanging 74 mph inside curveball from Tomlin. (Let's see if he can hit a 95+ mph fastball for a homer for his next trick.)

Although the Angels having two superstars makes things incrementally harder for the White Sox (albeit different divisions), it's great for the sport overall to have another Japanese superstar (if that's what he eventually becomes).

Maybe he's the type of transcendent personality that inspires a breakthrough in China or India, even.

Ohtani now 3/8 after taking all of spring training to come up with those numbers...make that 4/9.

Nope...another homer, this one off Kluber to tie the game. 92 mph four-seam fb.

5/11

Ohtani hr off Kluber

He lost the leg kick, and now he’s timing pitches better.

Yankees tried to get Trayce Thompson to AAA, but Oakland claimed him.

I really am surprised the Sox have no interest. I would claim him, DFA Saladino, make Leury the primary INF back up, give Trayce some ABs, if he hits great, if not, no one will claim him, you can drop him to AAA.

You might not even have to DFA Saladino. He may have an option left.

Depends if they like him over Cordell, and/or Leury mostly in the outfield vs. a defensive infield replacement.

Or Skole/Tilson...those would SEEM to be the three guys that Thompson would have to be better than, maybe Palka.

If Cordell can legitimately play 3rd (and 1B), he has an advantage.

"All-time" doesn't seem to remember anything much pre-1960.

You are right, misleading title from the article considering they write:

"When looking at the post-war, modern era (from about 1950 until now), there are 25 hurlers who stand above the rest as the greatest starting pitchers in history. Here are those men, sorted by Wins Above Replacement (via Fangraphs)."

Mike Matheny is horrible

Mike Matheny is horrible

We often over dramatize how bad a manager might be and how much his decisions actually affect his team's record.

But that's not the case with Matheny. He truly is that horrible and costs his team and franchise drastically in the win loss department. It can't be understated.

Machado 2 Yankees 1.

He also told the media, he is remaining a SS. He won’t move back to 3B even for the Yankees.

Ohtani just crushed another homer, 3rd of the year. Three consecutive games, all 3 home games.

Hitting 7/16...

Hendriks just walked him with bases loaded, wouldnt give him anything over the plate.

I am so hyped for Ohtani. I know we are still at a super small sample size, but he's the most interesting player I have ever seen.

Bartolo Colon is the most interesting player I've ever seen.

He absolutely tattoed a ball to 1b off a lefty reliever...at ‘em ball. Hes hanging in extremely well against LHP.

Ended up 1/4 with a walk, struck out against a tough breaking pitch bearing inside.

Ohtani is just dealing. The A's are no world beaters but their lineup is decent. They have no chance. 10 K's through 5.

Did he send his twin brother to spring training?

Edited by GermanSoxFan

Knew he would pitch. Losing the leg kick did wonders for hitting.

Great for baseball!
