Is that a cutter or slider that Fry threw to Devers? Nasty pitch either way.

Covey’s turnabout this year kind of goes against the idea of not rushing a player for fear of messing them up. Granted he was bad last year but the kid took those lessons to heart and learned. Six obv

I thought he had a blister problem?

Devers tries to hit the ball to Maine every god damn swing

Fry with a hell of a job.

Nice Jace!  Bradley Jr is terrible

Bradley couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat

Lol, that was fucking nasty!

The guys look like they are enjoying the stakes tonight.

I love Jaces stuff. He got 5 outs that inning.

Let's tag Sale for a few more runs before he exits the game.

Outside of a bullpen and Shields meltdown. This team has been playing respectably.

Good stuff Jace

I wasn’t sure about taking Covey out at 83 pitches but I guess at times you just have to trust Ricky knows what he is doing

Remember when Fangraphs said the Red Sox would be crazy to trade him for Abreu?  I bet wish they could do that deal now.

Heath Hembree looks a lot like John Lackey and therefore I hope he has little to no MLB success ?

I mean I dont think anyone expected his offense to nose dive

Please finish this.

I could so see Boston moving on from him this offseason and him ending up here.

Sure, no one though he’d be this bad, but his offense was already trending in the wrong direction.  They actually believed he would return to peak form.

Is it just me or does it look like more pitchers just than Giolito like pitching to Smith?

As far as I'm concerned Smith can start every game behind the plate.

Covey deserved to pitch seven. Glad I was wrong.

Not just you. Would be surprised if Narvaez is one of our catchers up next year. His lefty bat isn’t worth it.

Wow, I got the sound off with the NBA game on, thought that ball was gone off the bat, musta got it off the end of the bat a bit.

He'll be DFA when Beef is back in August.

Yep, Benintendi is real dangerous right now

You’d think.  Or at least sent down, but Ithink Ricky prefers him to Smith.

Snith was actually decent at the plate last year- not much power or anything- but he could at least get on base with some hard hit balls. His defense is solid. He’s a far better player than Narvaez.
