It's really nice to see a guy like Fry make a major leaguer out of himself when it didn't seem like a distinct possibility.

With a below average fastball spin rate, and almost non-existent secondary stuff, I'm not sure he's anything more that AAAA fodder to be honest. I have more faith in Giolito and Dunning than him. Giol

  • Probably a Giolito start absent of walks.

  • Watch out, you are gonna get Thad and WBWSF in here repeating themselves with this bat signal

Then why did you ask what Benetti was talking about? He said the guy had a good curveball. LOL

I had no idea, that's what I was saying, that's why I gave you the trophy, I was stuck on encyoclepedia dramatica

Jace should be in demand at the deadline, as he has dominated lefties

I would like to keep him unless he is netting us a good prospect

Chuck reporting that in a couple of weeks Micker will play the OF, that's a positive update.

Funny. Just odd to me . Every other Sox run is mentioned but nothing for an Avi jack who's resurgence would mean a lot .

That was a balk

Maybe just the Sox actually winning means nothing when people rather root for losses I suppose.

C'mon Jose get it together. It's like  you heard you're the leading vote getter then decided you didn't want to be an All Star

Yolmer deserves to be here long term.

Starter?  Utility?

he's the perfect super utility guy on a the next 90+ win team imo.   that said, if someone wants to overpay for him, trade him.  love yolmer but he's like a 2-3 WAR player at best.

He's not going anywhere. He still has 5 or 6 years left here.  If he does go, it will have been worth it.

Between fathom’s unwavering negativity & Parkman’s hot takes, I figured Lopez must of given up about 10 runs or so with 0 K’s.  Then I check the box score and see he had a respectable start.  And I get the box score doesn’t tell the whole story, but my god these game threads are brutal, way worse than usual IMO.  It’s really apparent some people can’t deal with the highs & lows that come with developing young talent.

Lopez also was the victim of 1-2 extra runs scoring due to Abreu’s iron fists...fwiw.

"Yakker" is slang for a curveball.

Not for a back door curve ball, though.

really? I've never heard that, or is this supposed to be some sort of joke?

Trading 6 years of someone who seems like he can be a dominant reliever doesn't seem like the best move for us. If he were older then I'd be down, but he has so much control left. I'd need a massive return

Just FYI

Lopez FB spin rate: 2088 RPM

MLB AVG: 2263 RPM

Huge difference. Explains a lot.

See above for my "hot take" on Lopez. idk, it makes his 98 mph fastball easier to hit. Do you even watch the games???? This is why hitters are not late on his 97-98 mph cheddar. They hit him hard, each and every time. The bad defense doesn't help either, but he's probably up there in DRA, and I know he is in xFIP.

Also, his 6.4 K/9 is closer to a soft tossing LHP rather than a righty power arm, and his BB/9 is almost 4. No good

everybody in this thread watches the games.   Not everyone overreacts to every pitch as if its the end of the world
