Moncada, Giolito, Basabe!

Nice win heading into the break!!

More timely hitting and great pitching from Giolito. Moncada a HR from the right side... what! That Palka HR was just wow!

It's funny, this is the exact game that those people that think Sox fans just want to lose games actually want to see - guys we need to count on moving forward out there performing. This was one of the more meaningful games of the year based solely on Yoan and Lucas.

PREACH!

First time I've been excited about the rebuild in a minute.

Nice dominating performance, granted it was against the putrid Royals but this leaves a great taste in everyone's mouths especially the players heading into the break. Well done! Nice to see Giolito and Moncada perform well. Every little bit helps their confidence.

Fuck 'em.  I hope they are bad forever.

Just watching the game now was out and about earlier that was a nice almost DP from TA and Moncada.  Wasn't really at all a DP ball and they almost had it.

3 years from now we'll all look back and say Palka's throw was the beginning of the ascension.

Giolito has actually been pretty damn great in 4 of his last 5 starts.

At the end of the day, it’s progress.

Today was one of those great rebuild days. Watching core pieces of the future perform well, watching Basbee in the Future Game, etc. Hopefully the 2nd half sees a few more of these days.

The first of the 5 starts I mentioned was one of those games where there was no reason he was still in for the 8th inning, and he went from 7-2 to 7-4. Outside of the first inning, he's been superb of late with his control.

There isn’t much you can do to call this season a “positive” from Gio, but if he can keep this up in the second half, he’ll be a 24 year old starter with some quality MLB expierence under his belt and trending upwards to start 2019.

I’ll take it.

Knock on wood, but even his walks have been pretty close. I know we try to forget, but when he was walking guys earlier in the year, he literally was missing by feet and not inches.

K rate coming up, walk rate coming down, leading to era coming down.  It's progress.

He had to have ben really close to having been sent down too as well. If he can get that ERA under 6 to around 5.50 by the end of the month, and down around 5 by the end of the year, it'll be some of the growth we wanted. The walks are going down and the K's are going up (albeit slowly).

Loved it

I just like wins. There are so many younger or youngish guys on the Sox it behooves them and us for all to play well.  Sure we can make a list of guys most important to the rebuild but if everyone does well it means a much better future . Realistic ? No . But, ideally ,the best possible outcome.
