It’s very rare for a player to just come into the league and be a stud. Not just for the Sox but for every organization. Guys need time to develop.  And if for those who think Moncada is a bust,

I'm not a fan of how Moncada high fived his teammates in the victory line. Very concerning IMO. Send him to Winston-Salem for a few days, teach him a lesson.

  • Bench his ass if he's not going to protect with two strikes. This is insane

What a joke.  Sit his ass for tomorrow

Tim making nice contact on a tough pitch in the clutch.

Yeah this pitcher is perfect for Timmy's swing

I was saying it from here, Timmy is an aggressive hitter. He is not going to walk. Why pitch to him when Moncada's splits are terrible batting RH? Just bad managing.

damn.

Comical

The only question remaining is can we make it a PLATINUM sombrero

Moncada aced 4 times on low and outside corner looking... That's gotta be a record? Meanwhile we have a player in the minors who has yet to strike out and he's advanced 2 levels.

Moncada is his own worst enemy. How does a hitter get called out on strikes, 4 times in one game? What ever happened to the notion that you don't take anything close, with two strikes?

All on fastballs also

Man, not an encouraging game for Yoan. He looked so much more locked in last night.

Great hitters swing at only what they like; but they learn to foul off stuff they don't like.

Exactly, at this point he has no hit tool at all. Needs to foul these pitches off or shoot it to LF.  I've been surprised at how few balls he's hit hard the opposite way.

Lopez WTF man cmon

Yes, good hitters foul off a lot of those two strike, close pitches. They also can take the outside pitch, the other way, for a hit.

The good news is that this is something that he is certainly capable of doing. It is simply a question of his mindset. He will learn and I certainly hope that he is being coached to do so.

Maybe that scout was on to something when he said he is a bit of a head case at the plate...

Yeah, he's inconsistent but I'm at least optimistic based on the good games he's had. Can't say the same for the half of this board that seemingly wants him to fail and only posts when he's having a bad game.

Perfect tank game.

Looez pitxhes great, leaves in the 8th with men on the corners and no one out... and Jace Fry enters? I’m scared that he can get out of this.

Why is Lopez wearing a hoodie in the dugout?

He's from the D.R., this "heat" is nothing to him

This is more a mental thing with him than physical

Why does it matter?

Not with micromanaging Ricky at the helm! Here comes the tank commander Minaya.
