Minaya is bad, but what choices does Ricky have out there?  Beyond Fry, no one has been particularly good.  I will be so happy when the purposely bad bullpen days are over.

See above. If the question were "what are the odds they decline his option, then re-sign him anyway to a cheaper 1-year deal as a 5th starter until Cease is ready", then I'd probably put it closer to

It's Renteria, what do you expect??? He sucks.

  • He's been playing great, but Timmy's at bat earlier was quite ugly.  Looked like someone playing a video game that didn't know you have to hit the down button to hit a low pitch.  Actually thought Yoa

So who's going to ht the walk off HR for the Yanks ?

I am going to go with Walker.

The Sox really need to get Nicky out of LF. He's just not an outfielder.

Welp, there's goes a walk off from Covey.

That's ONE way not to win too many meaningless late season games and end up with a pick in the #6-8 range...

Dylan Covey has 12 losses?  He didn’t even start the year in the majors.  Amazing.

Delmonico's not an outfielder, Palka's not an outfielder, Davidson's not a 3B...etc.   Engel's a CFer but can't hit even at the standard set by 2006 Brian Anderson.

To repeat from last night. The baseball analysts couldn’t figure out why Renteria took Minaya out other then he had extended him and he had been used a bit before that game. So why bring him in tonight? He had Burr who only threw 1.1 innings since being brought up

How about literally anyone who didn’t go 1.2 innings yesterday? How about Burr, who has now been here for 7 games and made one appearance?

What's even more amazing is that he was REALLY good for his first 6-7 starts, too...and still has an ERA lower than Giolito, who has managed to go all Danny Wright/James Baldwin in terms of W-L record.

I'm On Fire (Springsteen )

This loss is exhibit A for why Renteria shouldn't be managing the Sox in 2019.  100% on Renteria.

You’re right.  I forgot about Burr.  Why bring him up if he’s not going to get a chance?  The race for third in the AL Central?

Three homers allowed in last four innings is actually more what we have been used too

I think maybe he posted that after the HR if not yea good call.

13th game this year lost by the Sox when they had a lead in the 7th inning or later. Bullpen needs a lot of work this off season if they want to make significant progress in 2019.

Tough loss but it’s super encouraging that the Sox have looked better than their potential 100 win opponent so far this series. Not concerned about the garbage bullpen because Minaya and Covey aren’t guys that will see high leverage situations starting as soon as next season.

Well see.

You honestly expect to see Minaya and Covey pitching the last two innings of a close/tie game next year? They’ll be lucky to make the 25 man.

You absolutely have to turn Walker around with a lefty!  This was a winnable game if the bullpen was used correctly.

the man's a moron.

ricky's medical thing gives the sox the perfect way to save face, just pull an urbz and tell everybody he's stepping away for "medical reasons" when in reality he was shitcanned.
