  • How is this Cooper's fault? The weather, the velocity drop and missed locations clearly make this KW's fault. My gawd Sox fans how can you not see this?

  • Assuming the forecast holds, the Sox would be idiots to even send him out to start. But that's what I said last time against Boston and they still did it.

  • Kopech vs. Otani would be an interesting match up.

Fuck Cooper for neutering what makes Kopech special. I want him gone, but at the same time I'm mortified to think of what Sox pitching would look like without him.

Will Kopech be taken out of the game yet again?

Good lord.

Sinkers=bad high 4 seamers=good. Velocity = good as well. I think modern baseball may have passed him by. I'm willing to wait to see if he adjusts but I don't think he will.

This blooooooowwwwwssssss

This may be quick, but looks like more cells behind it. Kinda hard to tell.

Hahaha they decided to bring him.up to get extra innings but he's barely thrown a full game in 4 starts lmao

I am saving this take for January so it can keep me warm.

So......can we officially bequeath a rain_____ or storm____ moniker for Kopech?

Read the article in the Athletic by Fegan on how the new pitchers up are having to adjust on the different seams on the MLB ball.  Very interesting and a good read.  Several almost can't control a breaking pitch or have some that slip.

Do they still play Thunderstruck before home games?

Can they make that his walkout music or something like that?

What a shame that Thor is already taken. Although he did cut his hair

The Rainmaker.

Stormbreaker.

Rainmaker or Rain man

Why can't they play baseball in the rain like they do with football?

Yes, but the guy called Thor is on his way out while Kopech is still fresh and could be a starting pitcher for over a decade.

I read that article this morning. I'm aware of it. What I really meant was if a new manager wanted to bring in their own pitching coach I wouldn't be opposed to Cooper leaving.

That had huge run. It went from the middle of the plate to the right batters box.

This one.

Tarp off. No one in pen

They knew this would happen but started him anyway.

I hope these 20 innings he will pitch in september will be worth losing that extra year.

You can play in a light rain.  You can't play in a heavy rain as the ball will get water logged on any hit and make it extremely tough to throw.  You're also going to get standing water in any heavy rain and that will make the game completely unplayable.

In MLB they are primary concerned about standing water and they have a team watching the weather and ready to put the tarp out.  Given the increased injury risk there is almost no reason to play through weather other than to try and get a tightly scheduled game in the books and through 5 innings.

It rained for like 5 mins tops

Kopech back out

Kopech's still in.
