To me, that barbershop tidbit is BS.  If that business meant so much to him, they could just open up one wherever he goes.

It seems to me that both Harper and Machado have big egos (more so that the average player).  I would think that the Sox are selling to them just how huge they would be in Chicago.  They would instantly become the face of the team, and the team becomes a lot more popular.

Harper would be the Michael Jordan of the White Sox.  That’s got to be pretty alluring for a guy like him (assuming it comes with a $400M check).
