  • I don't really care about spring training Giolito. It has proven to be a false indicator before.

  • Main thing with Giolito is he's at least missing some bats in between getting hammered on his mistakes. There's a clear Gavin Floyd comparison but it's becoming a very optimistic one.

Atta boy Moncada!

Haha! They both have better career numbers against lefties that Alonso so you may be on to something...haha

That's giving them more credit than I was thinking. Castillo is much much better against righties than mccann and only a wee bit better against lefties so my guess is they were going to bat castillo basically exclusively against righties.

That was a nice one and I missed it because I was staring at Welington Castillo's splits page garitall

That's a nice AB by Moncada against Hammels.

And Gio gives one right back

It's getting really hard to continue to defend Giolito. Idk why the guy continues to suck, but he does.

Lets wait until we go north before we declare him dead.   Breaking pitches don't do too much in Arizona.  We are not competing this year.  Nothing wrong in letting him see what he can do with another year of starts.   He isn't blocking anyone.

He sucks in every aspect. He would be release caliber if he wasn’t once a top prospect. Oh well, at least Moncada looks good righty.

No the good results are real and the bad results are fake.

I guess if you want to take any positives out of this game is that Giolito's actually missing bats.

I don't disagree with you, as I've been one of his biggest supporters. However.....he's still having similar issues plague him as last year. My hope is greatly diminishing with each start.

I'd like Giolito more if he wasn't such a mental midget. Kid has decent stuff, just not the mental makeup.

If anything, he’s an over thinker. If you’re thinking mechanics out there, it’s not going to work out well.

Gio won't last the season maybe bullpen.

It's starting or bust for LG. He's too inconsistent out of the stretch and with runners on to be a bullpen pitcher.

That Cubs pitcher has that Jake Burger type build.

What’s David Holmberg up to?

RH is on. Spring training has been incredible. Very positive one.

I do wonder why in the hell is McCann hitting so high in the order this spring?

I think Ricky plans to bat our catchers high in the linuep.  Castillo will likely bat 5th on most days and against LHP him or McCann will maybe even bat cleanup.  Look at our options from the right side, it’s beyond pathetic.

If y'all want news, Micker Adolfo will start the year as a DH it sounds like on time.
