I think both Luis' make their way to AAA as well. I also think prospect fatigue will be real with Rutschman ala Rodon and the sox pick him at 3. The Os will go underslot for Witt and KC going for Lodolo or Thompson. Lastly this will be the final sell off this trade deadline I hope the sox focus on super low minors to supplement the pipeline. Alex Colome for OF Drew Waters# & LHP Kyle Muller from the braves Ivan Nova for OF Julio Rodriguez & LHP Brayan Perez from the mariners Kelvin Herrera for 3B Malcom Nunez & C Ivan Herrera from the cardinals Yonder Alonso for OF Jeremy De La Rosa from the nationals Jose Abreu for SS Livan Soto from the angels These trades are so in favor of the White Sox. The Twins will be a probably be competitive, but they're not going to be some kind of monolithic obstacle. The Sox basically need everything to go right from this point forward, since they've squandered so much already and the future is heavily dependent on consistent quality drafting, international signings and development.

June 4, 20196 yr I suspect depending on how things turn out regarding injuries, Jose' etc the Sox could have a need for a right fielder with power, a DH and certainly both starting and relief pitching in the next year or so.

JD has been my favorite hitter in baseball to watch going back to 2015.

June 12, 20196 yr Author When TA is your #7 or #8 hitter (legitimately, not because RR is a dumbass), you’ve got the makings of a fantastic lineup.

June 12, 20196 yr I'd prefer not to pay big bucks for JD Martinez 33-36+ age seasons. Obviously depends on the deal, but I just don't really see him as a fit. If we're going after a bat in should be a LH hitter, and preferably someone who can play RF for a season or two.
June 12, 20196 yr My (fantasy) offseason plan: Sign Gerrit Cole (6 years, $168M) Sign Yasmani Grandal (3 years, $60M) Re-sign Jose Abreu (2 years, $18M) Sign Scotter Gennett (3 years, $36M) Sign Alex Wood (1 year, $10M) Adds: $292M in spending, ~$80M to 2020 payroll, which would still be below league average at around $115-$120M Opening Day: Lineup: Leury Garcia CF, Yoan Moncada 3B, Jose Abreu 1B, Eloy Jimenez LF, Yasmani Grandal C, Scotter Gennett 2B, Zack Collins DH, Tim Anderson SS, Someone (Tilson, Cordell, Basabe, RF Rotation: Cole, Giolito, Cease, Wood, Lopez Bullpen: Colome, Herrera, Hamilton, Bummer, Burr, Frare, Fry, one of Covey/Ruiz/Vieria/Marshall/etc. Bench: McCann, Sanchez, Tilson/Cordell/Basabe/Engel Mid-Season: Lineup: Luis Robert CF, Yoan Moncada 3B, Andrew Vaughn 1B (if ready, if not keep Collins around), Eloy Jimenez LF, Jose Abreu DH, Yasmani Grandal C, Scotter Gennett RF, Tim Anderson SS, Nick Madrigal 2B Rotation: Cole, Giolito, Kopech, Cease, Wood (or Lopez) Bullpen: Same Bench: McCann, Sanchez, Leury, Collins (back to AAA, or 7 man pen) Pipedream? For sure. But I'd go to fucking battle with that team. Edited June 12, 20196 yr by ChiSox59
