Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him

  • my only philosophy on baseball (as a young person) is that old players like colome are useless (as are saves, since I am a statnik) and should be force retired. If that's not possible, flipping them i

  • I'd say put a silly value on him and if teams dont meet it just keep him.

Yah, that 60 at bat sample size really tells us all we need to know there.

Trades still trickle in until about 3:45 so after that point, we'll know for sure if Colome is here or not.

Usually a beat writer confirms nothing happened around 3:15

That is some hyperbole.

Yanks I guess out on Wheeler, looking for a pen arm now.

Not necessarily.  The Dodgers are already clearly the best team in the NL, adding arguably the best reliever in the NL, and a lefty to boot, would make them the heavy favorites.  It would make their biggest weakness a clear strength.

Very true.

I think they make sense for Colome too (a team that wants to compete next year), having the year of control. They did just trade for Stroman and Colome can be with the team in like 10 minutes lol

Greene gone to ATL

Yankees concentrating on pen help. Colome for Frazier?

I’d love Frazier for Colome.

Even though the Nats got three relievers, I wouldn‘t trust any of them in a high leverage situation

I’m thinking Giles for them

Isn't Giles having his elbow looked at or something

Many people on this board were very against Frazier earlier in the year when his name was brought up after he was sent down to minors.

I could still see a team dealing for him, depending on price.

Yes but teams still expressing interest

He just had a cortisone shot to his elbow.  Elbow inflammation he's been dealing with the last month and day to day.

Sounds like a grenade.

I can‘t see Toronto selling low on him. They can always trade him during the winter.

A 24 year old corner outfielder with some pop?  Yes please.  The lineup would pretty much be set for next year.  Then spend all of your money on starting pitching and bullpen help.

My bad. I thought he was a rental for some reason.

Think we can safely say Colome for Frazier isn't happening.

Braves also gonna land Melancon

Imagine how Colome feels watching the clock right now.

I'd imagine Hahn has given him the downlow on what's going on.

Even if we don’t make a trade (which would suck), I hope guys like Wheeler get moved so they don’t have draft pick compensation tied to them this offseason.

Probably knows by now if he’s staying or not. If you remember that Sox show on mlb network, KW was working out the last hour before the deadline as he knew nothing was happening.
