Why the F is Wellington Castillo batting 4th.  This is almost becoming too absurd.

  • ...have what it takes to get over .500 Sorry I had to.

  • Turner doesn't bunt... goes yard. It's not that hard Ricky.

Plus side Yo looks like he's seeing the ball good again.  Would be nice to see a power run again.

Anyone notice that Washington didn’t have Turner bunt in the same freaking situation that Ricky did?

It's honestly astonishing that his default setting, in almost any situation when runners get on, is to bunt. You have a decent lineup dude, let them swing.

They Sox have to be leading the league in bunts attempted by a wide margin. Is there anywhere that shows that info?

This was not a meaningless game or series. We still want success for our core and even ReyLo.

I don't care if we lose but they were sloppy and our best trade chip got stung.

FWIW, Suzuki has thrown out two more runners stealing than Karkovice has this season

And manager continues to be a hinderance.

Bad series, I fully expect them to win the first two in KC to suck me back in

He is quickly replacing Lopez as best probable #5 when rebuild is complete.

As of now, I would say he is the #2 starter.  His ERA is  4.58 after today's start.  The 3 Clowns that make up the rest of the rotation have ERA's of 6.24, 6.62, and 7.36.

I don’t care for a second if they win or lose a game like this. It’s just the continued bunting as a sign of the antiquated bullshit we keep seeing from Ricky and Cooper that is beyond tiresome.

On the bright side Mike Matheny won multiple divisions and an NL pennant and Ned Yost is a world series champion so it's not like it's impossible to win with a bumbling idiot in the dugout

I can't wait for Ron to enter to thread just to tell us that Abreu doubled and homered in consecutive games he knew the Sox would lose

Following up on this, Ricky is 5th in Rate+, which I assume, is an adjustment of his Sac Bunt percentage, which is 2.1%. In raw percentage he trails only.......Terry Francona?? He has 11 attempts to Tito's 13.

Alex Cora is up there too, which is surprising as well.

I Imagine this doesn't count bunts that fail to be put down.

Gonna be a long flight to Portland.

We have KC next so who knows....

But this reminds me of that May 2016 series against the Rangers. Had two horrible losses, and the team just nose-dived.

I haven't been critical of Renteria to date, but that bunt was beyond stupid.

I don't blame Ricky so much for bunting... Even tho in that situstion it was dumb. I blame Ricky cause his players can't execute. I swear we got a ton of dumb ballplayers. Leury is like top notch dumb.

Ugh.

At least somebody challenged him

If you don't you might have 2 runs on the board.

What a strange quote from renteria.  He threw Tim under the bus and used "I..." Instead of we.

It’s called advanced scouting. They should have known Rendon would charge and 1B stays back. Also Doolittle is tough to bunt on cause of all the high fastballs.  He’s just so stubborn on such a dumb strategy.

Trade him soon, thanks

This, haha.
