Wonder how much of this Reynaldo game plan is McCann? Love it.

  • LOL. Gimme a break. You pulled some stats out of your butt and I pointed it out. I didn't say it sucked. If you don't want it pointed out, don't be wrong for no reason. Easy.

I pulled stats "out of my butt?" I was off by ONE at bat. That's some serious skill and my anus must be pretty lucky. Honest to god dude, you're completely miserable. You come onto this forum dai

Lopez's curve is a much better pitch than his slider. It looks like he's bringing the cutter/curveball combo back. I don't understand why he went away from that as it worked so well last year.

Nice step forward for Reynaldo today. I'm glad to see the return of his true curve. Even if it is just a tertiary pitch, it seems to be something he can buy strikes with which is something he needs. Just has to use it enough that batters can have some doubt about what pitch he's going to use in various counts.

His curve used to be pretty nasty.  FG had it as a 55 / 60 pitch which is plenty good when paired with his fastball.  Just for whatever reason he gave up on it completely in exchange for the slider.

There's no doubt that even at full health, Yoan is really just not a very good basestealer. We'll always need to pick our spots with him carefully.

Probably not much

Castillo is catching him, unless you think Castillo is borrowing McCann's notes today.

Seems oddly frequent that guys come through our minor leagues relying on their curveballs and then drop it almost completely upon reaching the majors. That's been true of both Giolito and Lopez.

Okay, no need to send Reynaldo back out there for the 7th. Don't let him talk you into it.

?...almost makes me think Cooper has something to do with that.

Next to none

McCann is the DH, so probably none.

Guys - I think it’s pretty obvious @DirtySox didn’t realize Castillo was catching today.  No need to pile on.

It seems that it's much more difficult to get a strike called with the curveball. Umps seem to give up on it more.

Lol. Oops. I'll wear it. :D

I think Castillo is catching today. Not sure if anyone caught on to that.

Agreed

I agree let him have a great start but I fear with Banuelos and Despaigne coming they may try to milk it.

Make 'em pay, 10. Hit one into the fountains

Moncada again goes the other way and it pays off. Someone get me a towel

Yo!

YoYo!!

That would have been a double if Yoan was at 100%

That's my boy

Stone called that one. I would've either walked Moncada or pulled Sparkman.

He's turning into a star before our eyes. Both he and Giolito have made massive turnarounds from last season and it is wonderful.
