  • He's absolutely correct. This isn't some crazy stat-geek thing, it's common sense. A pitcher has no control over the offense that backs him. Pitching masterfully with a horse-shit offense can still qu

Stan Bahnsen went 21-16 then 18-21. Does anyone remember Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich.

And that's the point of watching.

And with that, CC has pitched his last game in Chicago. Respect to him. I'll never forget him pitching out of his mind like every 3 days with the Brewers.

I think 84-85 is possible

Gio with only 64 pitches to start the 6th.  Learning to pitch economically.

Not enough pitching. 79 or 80 is probably their max.

Ricky working his magic.

Flipping that curve in for early strikes is hot.

They are one pitcher away from being dangerous.

If they spend money on pitching, they will be a juggernaut .

If you count Kopech and Cease, sure.

Two decent starters and a quality right fielder.  Buy your playoff tickets.

Is Voit actually this good or is Gio just struggling against him? Hasn't gotten him out all night.

Would be great if we didn't have to use Bummer, Colome, & Marshall tonight

That's the plan.

ump not giving Gio any corners right now.

Ump really squeezing Giolito there

Why wouldn‘t you?

Spend the money on Cole or Bumgarner-

ILopez I think will be fine as a #4-#5 and if not you bring in a second tier free agent like Chacin.

Yankees doing a good job upping Giolito's pitch count this inning. Probably won't go no more than 6 or 7. Already at 90 pitches.

I think this should be Gio’s last inning. We don’t need him throwing 100+ every start.
