lol somehow putting "6 HR" twice feels appropriate

I think he grouped everything together for the first part (16 games) and then added that all 6 homers have been in the last 9 games

Moncada, Robert and Jimenez:

The Armour Square Arsenal

(Thanks to Eloy Jimenez the poster for that one)

Who can launch the most baseballs into orbit?

I have no idea what Eloy's MLB ceiling is as a hitter, but if you only look at the recent stats and not the earlier stats where he was adjusting to MLB pitching he's raking just as hard as he was in the minors. I'm even more excited to see what Luis Robert can do, he could be even better if he's anywhere even close to his ceiling.

I have to imagine he's a 35-40 homer guy every year tbh. Defensively he'll never be great but I assume he's destined for DH anyway. If he stays healthy he's probably going to be a .950 OPS guy annually

Pretty much every Sox fan's wishes for today's game were

1) win

2) eloy homer

we got both.

This was so much more dramatic than if he had just hit the slam in the first.

Hahah.  Holy shit.  That dude.

Agreed.  And while I’m sure he can improve in LF Ike Schwarber did, I would at least like to see him get part-time DH’ed.  I know you can’t worry about or predict injury but it’s just not worth losing his bat to injury.

I think Renteria believed that by the time Moncada got up Hamels would be gone and therefore hed face a righty.

Its still ridiculous and so unnecessarily risky.

Off-topic but I recently watched Major League 2 and now every time I see you post I see Jack Parkman sneering

I love the angle and seeing Eloy react before he reaches first.   The tv angle didn't show that

I am also mad about trying to play Moncada through the injury,

But credit where it is due, RR actually managed the pitching staff beautifully tonight, and was right on top of it in pulling Nova. I had predicted he would let Nova blow up in the GT, I was dead wrong, he nailed it.

I like the Armour Square Arsenal

Next weekend I get to renew my hatred for the Minnesota Twins. The only team I hate more than the Cubs.
