  • Donaldson is good.  He makes the Twins better in 2020.  He is also 34 years old, and the Twins will most likely be paying him $29M in 2023 in his age 37 season.  The backend of this deal is going to h

I would LOVE to see the Sox counter this by getting Castellanos.

Except Castellanos can't play defense. Donaldson can. Twins are getting value with his bat and on defense.

Yep, Twins just added about 4.5 wins.  Sucks.

Still are very short on pitching

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that free agent third baseman Josh Donaldson has agreed to a four-year contract with the Twins.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic hears that there will be $92 million in guaranteed money and a fifth-year option that can push the total value to $100 million.

Hes 34 years old and has been banged up. They just gave him 4 years.

Last year he wasnt worth more than 1 year.

I'll go on record to say he has 1 1/2 decent years and 2 1/2 injured or bad. Not sure on the order.

I mean, he's probably 2.5 wins better than what they would have thrown out there.

It’s nice to give a shit about the twins signing someone

That weasel agent and his multiple teams over 100 million.

Hopefully takes a dive like Alex Gordon too

5 year option.

Well 3B just got shored up for a bit.

He's not replacing a 0 win player though

This. The success of the White Sox rebuild is fully dependent on the development of the core pieces. This is obviously not ideal, but it shouldn't have a significant effect on our outlook.

Meh I’d rather them sign an aging 3B, hope he falls off the cliff rather than them make a trade for an arenado or Bryant

Damn.  That lineup is scary good.  The Minneapolis Mashers.

Sano moves to 1B since Cron is gone. Errors for the SS and Donaldson and whoever plays 2B are going to rise a bit with Sano on the 1B bag.

I guess with Sano moving to 1B, he is replacing Cron’s production from last year?

4/84, then 16 for the 5th yr or 8 mil buyout

But that was never going to happen.  The Twins giving up talent and $250+ million for Arenado or Bryant?

4/$92M for a 34y/o.  Hope the back end bites them in the ass.

Man that's not even a bad deal for Minnie.  The old hope they get hurt or fall off strategy is not ideal.
