Robert is barely putting any effort into swinging the bat. That was an 0-2 swing on a 1-0 pitch.

That pitch had so much break in it...it orginally was on course for the inner half and looked to Mazara like a FB, hence the terrible swing.

65 pitches through 5.  Sox have 2 hits.  So many ugly ABs...

They’re major leaguers because they’re supposed to be able to pick up spin.  For the last week, they look like minor leaguers who have never seen a decent breaking pitch.

Just not feeling very confident up there against Bieber...he usually swings TOO hard/aggressively, at least early in the count.   Seems like he's more feeling for the ball, and a bit in-between on his swing, to boot.    Also seems he's a bit sensitive to all the strikeouts recently, so more consciously trying to make any type of contact before getting down to 2 strikes in the count.

We are in a slump and facing good pitching dont help.

Our approach is not good against good pitchers.
