Moncada had COVID, showed up 4 days before the season started, and he's played 15 games in the past 15 days. He looks tired and it certainly makes sense. People that were ripping the two off days earl

  • I'm still a big Jose Abreu fan ... 3-4, 2 RBI; Eloy baby!

Contact play, fairly standard in that situation

I had hoped we were done with that asinine shit

That Grandal play comes in clutch

What do you mean? Abreu had taken second. There was no DP in play.

Robert seems to be standing 2-3 inches closer to the plate to cover the outside slider/offspeed stuff.
Continuing to struggle with sliders and curves, but hard to be angry about anything after putting up 4 there.

TA's presence seems to bring life to this lineup.

That first pitch to Robert wasn't even close to a strike

He could also... just... I dunno, not swing at every single slider he sees?

Good to see Jose Abreu is okay. Although I'd like it to see him have a more patient approach at the plate. His walk rate is way down. He's a dangerous hitter. Pitchers are going to be careful with him. But he's hacking at a lot garbage... my two cents.

Just gonna go ahead and quote myself here... Abreu came out and took three pitches, and then got a good one to hit. Good job. Also nice job making it to second easily.

meh, pretty much every team does it in that situation.

maybe not if it's the catcher on 3rd tho ?

Truth is that Gio is going to need a lot of runs even though the Tigers lineup is not good

That's invariably the biggest flaw out of the majority of Latin American prospects based on the pitches they see growing up in the Dominican, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

He's just in-between right now.   Has too much talent not to come out of it, especially as some games get out of control and the last relievers out of the bullpen throw him more fastballs.

Almost Marie Antoinette'd there.

Decapitation, ala Jayne Mansfield.

Gio saved himself a run with that defense already.

Reflex catch!  Wow ?

I do have full confidence he'll adjust fine, he's way too talented to be taken down by a single flaw like that. But the pitchers are killing him right now.

Hahn's going to have to figure out a way to add another veteran pitcher, SOMEHOW.

jesus christ moncada.

Stroman. has to be. Give him a 2 year deal with a player option for 3rd year.

Moncada’s body language kind of sucks right now.

Dammit, MONCADA.

Way way way too lackadaisical.

50% of the time Abreu doesn't come up with that one, AND ALL OF SOX TALK IS SHOUTING AT YOAN IN FRUSTRATION.

Being too deliberate screwed up his footwork.

I will keep repeating my Holy Trinity.  Bauer/Gausman/Stroman.

Ok enough with the shitty throws

Now, what Abreu's going to blow out a hammy or quad stretching for a wild throw, lol?

Yoan's the next one to sit, arguably.

Cron with knee sprain and mild ligament damage, DL'ed.

Bauer would be unreal. I just don't see it. I'm not high on Gausman, but its fine if contract is reasonable.

Gausman is many things, but he is not a top of the rotation starter, not even a mid-rotation one
