Wow I literally said the same thing

It's maddening to see him committed 100% to first pitch. I know he's capable of identifying good and bad pitches - I've watched him spit on enough sliders in a 2 strike count already to know he identifies. He just thinks he can hit anything and everything and commits to swing regardless of location. He'll get embarrassed enough to change

Yeah it's annoying.

how does mendick have such a good plate eye?

he's always had great K/BB numbers. He was a fangraphs Fringe Five guy before because his plate discipline numbers are good, and he's pretty good at everything.

I watched a ton of his games last year. Obviously he was amazing, but he gave away a lot of at bats with first pitch weak pop ups to the right side or three pitch strikeouts.   Pitchers weren’t good enough to take advantage of that in the minors.

what a great fucking take TA.

Yeah, and I've said it before but he had no reason to change. He was embarrassing guys because guys would make enough mistakes every single game for him to dominate.

I actually take it as a good thing because I never thought his plate discipline was because he was incapable of identifying pitches, or because he hated walking. He just could crush the ball being that aggressive so why change. I think at this level he's being embarrassed quite often in at bats and that embarrassment will lead to a change in his approach. We've literally already seen it game to game.

Just hit a slider out. Another brilliant post by Parkman.

I was joking, Major League references are nearly always a joke. There was a kernel of truth to it but in no way was that meant to be serious.

TA has incredible wrists

a rocket off the top hand action but just unlucky.

This is as dangerous as he’s ever looked

nasty pitch, jesus

I’d feel a lot better about the Sox if they had a better manager and if they had a #2 and a #4/#5 starter.

And a good lefty hitting RF to balance the lineup

He's so strong and has such blazing bat speed that he's just scratching the surface of his potential now.

I mean it's funny when you're winning!

Eloys look was priceless

Don't be looking at Robert like that Eloy... you know he is way better with the glove.

"when you field like that I'll take it all kid".

jack morris laying the hammer on eloy, I love it.

Over .500, don't look back.  With the Cubbies playing 2 double headers, maybe their pitching will be over taxed for our series at Wrigley.

Ballgame!

Sox Win!

Sox Win!

Solid win.
