He was still swinging at everything within 5 inches of the zone.

Kind of like Anderson to a degree. In this day and age I don't think taking a ton of pitches means much anymore. SP's don't go 7+ often anymore anyhow

When McCann leaves this winter and Collins is traded, I wouldn't mind Romine as a back up to Grandal

Right and it took anderson two and half years how to figure out how to make that work.

I don’t mind either there because I don’t love anderson there either, but people were UPSET about the reigning batting champion being the lead off guy over a guy who was playing well but still clearly had things to work on.

mazara's bat is slower than shit.

Not that I necessarily disagree because of the way he is hitting right now. However, overall this is a great deal of complaining (not you but everyone) about a player who has a lifetime OPS under .690. If the Sox passed up on Grandal to sign McCann this board would have exploded.

You make a good point.  However, McCann has earned our support as well.

not even that good of a breaking ball after looking at a fastball and fouling one off meekly.  wtf.

Mazara has no chance right now.

Mazara is just a bad baseball player

mendick is up there hacking and slashing, I love it.

ah fuck good pitch.

That’s a tough strike call.

He may just have a nice little career in front of him

That was inside

Tim's going to hurt himself swinging so hard. He looks like he's locked in

Robert still seems "in between". He's gotta take more 1st pitches

That  AB by Robert truly baffled me. Jimenez K'd on mostly pitches out of the zone. TA and Yoan took Boyd deep. You got a lefty on the mound afraid to throw strikes against righties. You take that 1st  pitch every time. Force Boyd to throw you something in the zone.

Those things need to be in Robert's head if not from his own thought process then from a coach prior to his AB.

totally man I don't see why someone is just telling him in the on deck circle or pre game to consider not swinging until he has a strike on him.

TA making Boyd work. Love it.
