  • I am someone who welcomes hot takes, and I think the whole purpose of the game thread is venting and hot  takes.  But the best part of hot takes is pointing out how stupid they were and ho boy di

The only question is how many pitches Renteria lets him go to break his career high strikeout game at this point...

Gio pitch count already at 33

my god that changeup was absolutely filthy.

Luv to watch pitchers not go into the 7th inning anymore

11 swings and misses already in the 2nd inning.

Is it too early to say Giolito has a better change up than Johan Santana did?

fastball up and in he'll strike out.

not much fastball command early.

Yes

That would be fine if we could be more confident in our overused 7th and 8th inning relievers...who we didn't add to at the trade deadline.  Really counting on Cishek somehow straightening himself off and Marshall/Cordero/Detwiler not folding with Bummer out.

YES YES YES.   When he does it for five consecutive years, then we can talk.   Glavine and Buehrle weren't bad, either.

Strikeouts are fine and dandy but he’s not gonna last long at this rate

This poor bullpen is going to be so gassed

Need some quick outs or he isnt going more then 5 tonight

It's too late

Inning Over.  But 45 pitches already.

luckily the tigers have a shit lineup left a lot up and out over the plate.

E-Sock instead of Isaac...?

43 pitches now, he's going to be lucky to get through 5 unless he has a couple of really quick innings, DP balls, etc.

17 straight scoreless innings at Guaranteed Rate for Giolito.

Make that 18 thanks to our Gold Glover CFer.

See the video in the post above^

Hope the Sox can work some counts against Mize this inning.

Robert just glides out there....so reminiscent of Devon White.   Andruw Jones is another...but he just looks so much more graceful.

Like you can tell he's controlling his speed at 85% unless he REALLY needs to go get a ball in the alley or back to the fence.
