  • Me - I had to seperate this into a new thread. Didn't need 80 pages of historical garbage. Lets get the big news in its own thread.

Hello everyone!  I just found the board a couple of weeks ago and this is my first post.  I'm from Southern Illinois and I am primarily a St. Louis Cardinals fan, but I've always liked the White Sox a

  • Actually, you are. But you didn’t answer my question.

Well, that's the type of move they should be making.

No complaints here. Let's go!

Add another starter like Quintana or Richards and it'll be one hell of an off-season.

Need a left-handed bat too, but those two and maybe a backup catcher is all we need.

I still want them to sign Brantley.

Damn that’s salty. Thought the thread title must be a typo. But I’m not complaining

Ton of money for a closer but who cares it isn't ours!  This is the kind of reckless spending I've been dreaming of!!  Go sign Bauer.  Why not.

Marshall/Foster/Frye/Heuer/Bummer/Hendricks, add Crochet in September/playoffs. Name a better bullpen, go.

Having Hendriks really makes this bullpen nails. Colome was nearly perfect last year, but there's no way he would be over a 162 game season.

When Schwarber just got $10 million a year, Brantley's probably out of our price range.

As would I.  Get that extra lefty bat and put your foot on MIN throats and I think Brantley is best available.  I am just not sure what his asking price/years are.

I would love a lefty bat and high risk high reward SP (Kluber, Richards, etc). Not as much the safe route with Q.

You're probably right. Le sigh.

Dewon Day had it too. Maybe got the wrong team but he mentions the 'heavy buy-out' and 13mm per year. Also in comments he says 'end of week'. I'll give him some credibility.

Our playoff bullpen should be nasty as fuck, especially if you assume Kopech gets moved there come October:

  • CL: Hendriks
  • SU: Bummer*
  • SU: Kopech
  • SU: Crochet*
  • MR: Marshall
  • MR: Heuer
  • MR: Fry*
  • MR: Foster
  • MR: Lopez/Burdi/Johnson

So we can’t bring in a career-long starter coming off an injury to relieve in a huge spot?  I don’t like where they’re headed.

No.  I just think its stupid.

Good call, buddy.

(And I when I say "buddy", I do mean it in a condescending, Look at Ray Ray Run type of way)

Absolutely. Initial dollar amount is a shocker, but broken down this is a decent deal. Props to the Sox for getting it done.

Unbelievable. This is the most stacked Sox team of my lifetime, and it’s not particularly close.

Hmm perhaps Toronto had a similar deal on the table.

You talking about Kopech?

Lol, I just want to dream the narrative that the White Sox outbid another team to get their guy for once.

This is what I want too, but since it won't happen I have set my cheap DH sights on CJ Cron.

Kluber and Quintana also fit the bill.
