I like how the La Russa apologists have identified themselves via avatar.

And that's why we get continually one of the worst strike zones in all of baseball.

#1, it shouldn't have taken Katz getting tossed to wake him up. #2, Once Katz did get tossed, Tony should have done enough to join him. You could see Burr was still visibly upset after the inning

haha way to leave Fry in way too long.  This was a terribly managed game.

That’s a fielder’s choice, not a hit.

Ridiculous

Also can we stop bringing up guys who aren’t 100 pct healthy?  Fry even admitted he hasn’t regained his velocity.

Back down goes Fry

OK, off to eat, feel good about turning this one off, at this point.

We don’t have crap in the high minors in terms of arms

Fry’s first game back…let’s sneak him through two innings.  Dumb

Oh well, win tomorrow and it’s all good

Wasn’t even a long reliever when he was healthy

We just watched TLR leave his starter in way too long while having no one ready in the pen.  It's not like those critical of TLR have to try real hard to find game altering mistakes.

It was the 5th inning with 1 out. You can't just take starters out whenever they struggle. He needs to be able to pitch over mistakes, otherwise he's a reliever.

Still - if you want to criticize LaRussa for that, fine. Makes a lot more sense than not yelling at umpires.

Let’s go Bucks, beat the Hawks.  That’s all I’ve got.

First game for Fry all year right? And he dominated his first inning. Definitely not a good idea pushing it this time.

Very bad managing there.

its harder for sure - I see your point but I don't feel like writing 3 paragraphs to explain human behavior and human psychology, avoiding conflict, trying to be fair ect ect.

Why does yelling at the umpires work? Psychology, that's why. Don't ask me to explain it further. If you don't understand it, your brain is simply too small.

Oh well.  Win tomorrow.

Interesting decision to let Fry wear it when the game was still within reach

Bad game for the Sox all around, which happens to every major league team against any given opponent. I expect them to shake it off and come out ready tomorrow but I also expect the usual hand wringing here and wonder if the same people who say winning all your games against the Tigers is meaningless will simultaneously say you can’t lose any games to the Tigers…

It’s the new, smarter era of baseball where they try to avoid having starters face guys for a third time. Pitching guys for a long time just because they’re a starter is antiquated

Tony sucks pure and simple.

You mean we shouldnt leave a reliever in for 40 pitches in his return from a long DL stint?

So does the bullpen outside of two guys

sorry, Burr has done well enough to make it 3

That was a strange play.

Nothing new.  I already know that.

Starters are averaging 5.1 innings per game. 4 innings is terrible no matter how you slice it.
