That is a crazy stat

In fairness, a lack of pitching has been the reason why the Angels have been so mediocre the past decade. No excuse when you have Trout, Ohtani, Rendon

The way too early Jan 2022 list, our top 10 could look like:

1. Montgomery

2. Colas

3. Kath

4. Cespedes

5. Kelley

6. J Rod

7. Adolfo

8. Ramos

9. Vera

10. Burke

I would say there is very little separation between the top 4-5, which is really saying we have a group of 55 FV prospects with no elite prospects (yet). Overall this is a more promising list than what we started the year with (without considering the graduates)

I would be shocked if MIcker is still here by opening day 2022.

two pitchers from Bradley and two from TCU. Sounds like the scout for those hung out for a few games.

Maybe he's just got an affinity for the World Famous Big Al's

I am including him until he isn't, but yes more than likely he's gone. Whichever one of Thompson/Daulquist who could right the ship would be the next man up for me.

Why would the Sox wait until 15 to grab butler and not do it in 11th round?

I actually would love to know this too. First thought is maybe he was a plan b or c and waited to see if those panned out first

Maybe they already had a "deal" with him so it didn't matter?

At this rate with the new strategy of drafting. Could you see the sox being middle of the pack in system rankings in the next 2-3 years?

Maybe he thought he could get more money than we were willing to offer, and when he couldn't he came back around to us? Or we were planning on spending on someone in an earlier round and they got taken before we could get them, so we had more available to get to his number.

The team negotiates with agents and families at every minute during the draft. When they come to terms they draft them immediately in the next round.  My understanding it’s not about the round after 10 it is when the player agrees that he will sign.

I'd bet against the farm improving much during our competitive window. Prospects will be used in trades to bolster the MLB roster. It's the reality of building a championship club outside of the Dodgers/Rays, who are in another league in terms of scouting/development.

In addition, LAAAAA added 4 more pitchers in UDFA so far, along with 4 position players.
