Smoltz had just said Jose can't hit the low pitch and then he takes a low slider out for a HR.

Only fitting Abreu hit the 1st one there.

That’s fitting.

?

Eloy has been swinging at some terrible pitches the last 2 days.

Hitting a HR into the corn field looks so cool

Sox fans are going to hate this game if we lose, and if we win it's going to be one of the coolest Sox games in history

He's every bit as bad of analyst as ARod, to me. It's embarrassing for Fox and ESPN they have so much money but can't find decent broadcast teams.

Just enjoy it.  At worst they’re still 10 up in the division after tomorrow.

I realize why this crew had the game, I liked when Amin and AJ had our game earlier this year

And the first home run in Iowa belongs to Abreu

Send someone out to the corn to retrieve that ball!.  That’s worth some dough on top of the historical significance.

Yup, I love everything about this game, but I'm loving it a touch more after that home run

You gotta love how they are already talking about the Yankees "injuries" yet haven't mentioned the Sox have actually had a few of their good hitters injured most of the year (not to mention still missing Grandal and now Rodon is out).

i'm not a great lip reader, but that was pretty clear, haha

This zone looks awfully generous.

Great frame by Zavala.

Is this a major league ump?

Also Joe, that wasn't high at all, just outside

This strike zone is bananas. Surely going to help Lynn if they are gonna call all the high strikes

none of those fancy tracking cameras, hoberg can let that zone go nuts

We’ll take it.

I feel like those “high strikes” aren’t that high.

Hoberg's one of the more consistent and accurate home plate umpires. If we needed to have a game without tracking, I'd trust him over just about every other umpire.

Good job Eloy

Eloy in a halfway unbottoned 1919 jersey looks dope.

But there is truly never a routine fly ball with him.

Much better inning for Lynn's pitch count.

Agreed, the low strikes might have been less accurate
