Why in the f did he turn around when he was halfway around 2B?  What is he looking for?

I think the problem with our flame thrower relievers like Kopech and Hendriks is that they think they can blow their 97+ mph fast ball by anyone.  But that is not the case against elite hitters like Salvy, Jose Ramirez, Aaron Judge, and others that can hit those fastballs a long way.
