The backup plan is to take Goodwin out of the game. Bring Vaughn or Leury to RF. Goodwin cannot be defensively in a one run game in the 8 th.  He is one of the worse outfielders even for AAA.

This is exactly the type of game the Sox will see in the playoffs. These games against teams who are fighting for their playoff lives are great right now.
